As a Project Moderator, you will conduct video calls with ASL and BASL speakers, guide them through the recording process, explain project requirements and recording guidelines, and answer participant questions in real time. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative data collection project supporting the development and improvement of Artificial Intelligence technology. Role Summary The Project Moderator will become familiar with the project's contributor and quality guidelines and guide participants through the complete recording process. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is organized, punctual, comfortable interacting with participants remotely, and able to clearly explain technical instructions and requirements. Role Responsibilities Study and master the contributor and quality guidelines for the project. Complete the collection assignment independently to understand the participant experience and potential challenges. Conduct video calls with ASL and BASL speakers participating in the project. Walk participants through the recording process, application usage, and project guidelines. Review and confirm that participants have at least three suitable recording environments available. Assist participants in completing several recordings during the video call. Answer participant questions and provide clear guidance in real time. Identify and help resolve issues participants encounter during the collection process. Communicate and coordinate with the project and production teams as needed. Role Requirements Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and Black American Sign Language (BASL). Fluent in English. Based in the United States and able to work remotely. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to clearly explain application usage, recording environments, and project guidelines. Comfortable answering participant questions and troubleshooting issues in real time. Highly organized, reliable, and punctual. Comfortable conducting participant-facing video calls. Able to learn and apply detailed project and quality guidelines. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in moderation, facilitation, interpreting, participant support, research, data collection, or similar roles. Experience working with Deaf, Hard of Hearing, ASL, and/or BASL communities. Comfortable working with video recording applications and digital collaboration tools.
