Remote Senior Data Engineer

Role: Senior Data Engineer, Baseball Systems

Responsibilities:

• Administer and optimize Snowflake and SQL Server environments, including query tuning and access control.
• Develop and maintain data transformation pipelines from APIs, file sources, and cloud storage.
• Utilize tools like dbt, Snowpipe, and Snowpark for data transformations.
• Design, monitor, and improve data pipelines for structured and unstructured data, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
• Modernize legacy SQL Server pipelines and support software lifecycle phases.
• Provide proactive support for production systems, troubleshooting pipeline and performance issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support analytical and reporting needs across Baseball Operations.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture planning, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering with expertise in database performance and pipelines.
• Strong SQL development, optimization, and stored procedure skills.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage, and tools like dbt and Snowpipe.
• Knowledge of ELT/ETL concepts and data architecture best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality.
