- Identify relevant discontinuities and flaw characteristics
- Distinguish reportable indications from acceptable conditions
- Apply practical NDT judgement to complex inspection evidence
MT, PT & Indication Evaluation
- Review magnetic particle testing indications
- Evaluate penetrant testing results
- Assess flaw morphology, relevance, and severity
- Identify ambiguous indications requiring additional review
- Document technically defensible inspection conclusions
Code Compliance & Weld Acceptance
- Apply ASME Section V requirements to inspection scenarios
- Evaluate findings against applicable weld acceptance criteria
- Reference API 510, 570, and 653 where relevant
- Apply API 1104 and AWS D1.1 principles where applicable
- Make nuanced accept/reject recommendations based on governing requirements
Advanced Inspection & Technical Analysis
- Evaluate thermographic imagery when required
- Review remote visual inspection footage
- Analyse inspection evidence across components and weldments
- Resolve conflicting or incomplete inspection information
- Apply expert judgement to unusual or borderline conditions
Reporting & Quality Collaboration
- Prepare clear and technically accurate inspection reports

- Strong background interpreting radiographs and ultrasonic data
- Practical experience with phased-array ultrasonic testing
- Experience evaluating MT and PT indications
- Deep familiarity with weld defect acceptance criteria
- Thorough knowledge of ASME Section V
- Familiarity with ASME Sections VIII and XI
- Strong working knowledge of API 510, API 570, and API 653
- Familiarity with API 1104 and AWS D1.1 is highly valuable
- Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or power-sector environments
- Strong ability to make defensible code-based accept/reject decisions
- Exceptional written and verbal technical communication skills
- Experience interpreting thermography or remote visual inspection data is advantageous
- Ability to work objectively and independently in a remote environment
