Remote Service Advisor – Automotive

πŸ“ Remote work from South Africa | Full-Time

ZAR 22K Monthly

Are you someone who understands cars, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in delivering a great customer experience?

Our client is a UK automotive platform β€” backed by Renault Group β€” on a mission to make car servicing, MOTs and repairs as easy as ordering a takeaway.

Think doorstep collection and delivery, transparent pricing, and a network of vetted local garages, all wrapped around a customer experience that's miles ahead of the traditional dealership.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your automotive knowledge, customer service skills and operational ability, working remotely for a fast-growing UK tech business that's part of a legendary manufacturer group.

The Opportunity πŸš—

As a Remote Service Advisor, you'll sit at the heart of the customer and garage experience.

You'll help customers navigate their servicing, MOT and repair bookings while working closely with Fixter's UK garage network to make sure everything runs smoothly.

That means answering questions, coordinating with garages, managing availability, resolving booking issues, communicating changes and making sure customers always know what's happening.

You'll also need to understand cars and the services being booked, allowing you to have credible conversations with garage partners and provide customers with clear, accurate information.

This isn't a traditional call-centre role. It's a varied position combining customer service, automotive knowledge, problem-solving and operational coordination.

You'll be dealing with multiple moving parts every day, and you'll need to be comfortable taking ownership when something doesn't go according to plan.

What You'll Be Doing πŸ”§

  • Supporting customers with their bookings β€” answering questions, providing updates and making sure customers understand what is happening at each stage of their journey.
  • Coordinating with garages β€” communicating directly with garage partners to confirm availability, pricing, services and booking requirements.
  • Managing booking changes β€” handling rescheduled, amended or cancelled bookings and finding practical solutions.
  • Using your automotive knowledge β€” understanding common services such as MOTs, servicing, diagnostics and repairs so you can confidently discuss bookings with customers and garages.
  • Resolving problems β€” identifying issues early, taking ownership and finding solutions before they become bigger customer problems.
  • Managing customer expectations β€” communicating clearly and professionally when timings, pricing or arrangements need to change.
  • Coordinating the right garage β€” considering location, capability, availability, pricing and turnaround times when arranging customer bookings.
  • Building garage relationships β€” maintaining regular communication with garage partners and understanding their capacity, availability and service limitations.
  • Keeping bookings moving β€” monitoring bookings and proactively identifying anything that could prevent a booking from being completed successfully.
  • Flagging recurring issues β€” identifying garage or operational problems and escalating them to the wider team with clear information.
  • Supporting the wider operations team β€” jumping in on additional operational tasks during busy periods and helping wherever needed.

What We're Looking For πŸ”Ž

  • 3+ years' experience in customer service, service advising, operations, logistics, fulfilment or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • A genuine understanding of cars and automotive services β€” you should be comfortable discussing MOTs, servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
  • Experience working with a UK, US, Canadian, Australian or Western European company is important.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate clearly with customers and garage partners.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills β€” you're comfortable speaking to different stakeholders and building trust quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills β€” when something goes wrong, you're already thinking about how to fix it.
  • A good understanding of UK geography and logistics, including regions, travel distances and postcodes.
  • Extremely detail-oriented β€” you understand that small mistakes can directly impact the customer experience.
  • Highly organised and comfortable juggling multiple moving parts without losing track of the detail.
  • Able to work independently and take real ownership of your work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment where priorities can change quickly.

Most importantly β€” you're customer-focused, commercially aware and genuinely interested in the automotive industry. You know how to communicate clearly, stay calm when things change and see a problem through until it's properly resolved.

Bonus Points ⭐

You'd be particularly well suited if you have:

  • Experience working as a Service Advisor, Service Consultant or Customer Service Advisor within a garage or dealership.
  • Experience working in a garage, dealership or automotive business.
  • A background in automotive, mobility, logistics or marketplace operations.
  • Experience dealing directly with garage, workshop or dealership networks.
  • Experience with UK postcode geography and regional logistics.
  • Used CRM, booking, ticketing or operations management systems.
  • Experience monitoring SLAs, operational performance or fulfilment metrics.
  • A sales or account management background β€” helpful, but definitely not essential.

The Offer πŸ’·

  • R22,000 per month
  • 100% remote β€” work from South Africa with a company laptop provided.
  • 22 days annual leave + 11 bank holidays
  • Full training and ongoing support from day one.
  • A collaborative, transparent and fast-moving international team.
  • Real ownership and impact β€” your decisions directly influence the customer experience and operational performance.
  • Genuine progression opportunities as the business continues to grow internationally.

The Schedule ⏰

Monday to Friday, working an 8.5-hour shift within the window of 08:30–18:30 UK time (GMT/BST).

Your exact shift will be confirmed based on business needs.

For South African candidates, this generally means working 1–2 hours ahead of UK time, depending on the time of year.
