About the role
In this role you will be responsible for the end-to-end extraction, collation, and preparation of the Bank's credit risk data that will enable our teams to create accurate credit risk reports. Looking across all credit risk exposures, spanning Business, Agribusiness, and Consumer lending portfolios, and consolidate this data from various source systems into a unified credit risk dataset.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Monthly processes: run processes and compile the credit risk dataset in the SAS environment. Conduct rigorous reconciliations to ensure accuracy, resolve anomalies, and identify underlying trends before data is released.
- Semantic Modelling: Build and maintain the Power BI semantic model which populates Power BI reports used for credit risk reporting across the Bank, allowing other teams to seamlessly generate insights for credit committees and key stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement & Projects: Collaborate directly with the Central Data and Projects Lead on strategic initiatives, database enhancements, and structural data adjustments
This position can be based out of Melbourne, Bendigo, Sydney or Adelaide and is a full time, 12 month maximum term contract commencing in December 2026.

What you’ll bring to the role
You are a technical data specialist with a knack for building clean, reliable data pipelines. To be successful, you will bring:
- Technical expertise: Hands-on experience with SAS, BigQuery and Power BI platform capabilities - specifically in building and optimizing semantic models - is highly desirable, and SQL, Oracle SQL is a plus
- System knowledge: Familiarity with banking data warehouses and source lending platforms (such as RFSB, Leasing, Optimist, ABC, GCP)
- Lending domain knowledge: A solid understanding of the credit lending process and loan data attributes
- Problem-solving & agility: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to easily adapt to new technologies and process changes.
- Team-first attitude: A collaborative, flexible mindset and a genuine willingness to pitch in and support the broader team.
