Job Description
In June 2025, the Flocks project successfully launched six Flocks to build stronger communities for ornithologists across the American Ornithological Society, Wilson Ornithological Society, and the Association of Field Ornithologists. The creation of these Flocks was supported by the National Science Foundation, the three ornithological societies, and over 200 individual ornithologists who contributed to a crowd sourcing campaign.
With these Flocks well on their way, we now seek a part-time support staff member for the Flocks effort who can ensure the Flocks are supported and also coordinate the Flocks Council (a body of representatives from Flocks). They will also coordinate an e-newsletter, ornithological conference activities, and virtual activities hosted by the Flocks.
The position is a remote position, but applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must reside within the U.S. at the time of employment.
Position will require travel to ornithological conferences (costs covered by project and hours increased to 40 those weeks).
