Research Associate

Job Description: Research Associate Overview Coresight Research is seeking a Research Associate /Analyst to support its sector and thematic research with a focus on the global e-commerce platforms sector . This role is focused on producing high-quality, insight-driven research, primarily in the form of reports and, less regularly, presentation decks. This includ es sector coverage, earnings analysis, thematic reports, and client- and media-facing deliverables. The Research Executive/ Associate /Analyst will work closely with senior analysts, a data team, and leadership to strengthen Coresight’s thought leadership and client impact. Key Responsibilities: 1. Sector Research & Coverage Research and write retail industry reports , typically with a US/global focus —such as sector outlooks , sector deep dives , i nvestor d ay coverage, responsive i nsight reports, and Points of View ( PoVs ) across assigned sectors. Produce earnings snapshots and earnings commentary for companies across e-commerc e retailing (such as Amazon, Coupang,, JD.com , PDD Holdings, Zalando and others) , including their B2C and B2B/platform operations . Maintain and regularly update company profiles. Establish a supported perspective on the sector and its constituent companies. Track and analyze industry news, financial results, management changes, emerging trends, and competitive developments. Identify significant issues within covered sectors, as topics to cover in research. Establish a supported perspective on such issues. Engage with industry experts to gather insights and strengthen research outputs. Work with a data team to incorporate relevant, proprietary data into research reports. 2. Thematic & Recurring Research Contribute to quarterly and recurring reports such as Earnings Weekly, Earnings Wrap-ups, and Inventory Insights. Contribute some reports outside of formal sector coverage. This may include some recurring formats (e.g., monthly reports) , earnings reports and reports on the India retail market. 3. Client, Media & Thought Leadership Support Support client- and prospect-facing presentations, presentation decks, and bespoke research requests. Assist with media queries and commentary related to covered sectors, in coordination with senior researchers and PR. Participate in webinars, conferences, and industry events (virtual and in-person) as required . 4. Internal Collaboration Participate in retail vertical weekly calls, research team meetings, all- company sessions, and regular leadership and data team calls. Collaborate closely with data, editorial, and events teams to ensure research consistency and quality. Skills & Experience Strong research and analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to convey a supported, distinctive perspective on covered sectors . Demonstrated ability to write clear, structured, insight-driven research reports , including an understanding of syndicated, industry-focused market research reports Ability to identify significant market issues and develop a supported, distinctive perspective around them. Solid understanding of financial performance, earnings analysis, and key industry metrics. Strong written and verbal communication skills . Familiarity with the global e-commerce sector is strongly preferred. Preferred Attributes Ability to manage multiple reports and deadlines in a fast-paced research environment.
