Company Description Danish Development Research Network (DDRN) is a non-governmental organization that brings together individual and institutional members from around the world who engage with knowledge for sustainable development in the Global South. Membership is open to researchers, students, practitioners, consultants, and organizations working with the generation, communication, and application of knowledge related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). DDRN focuses on communicating new research from all scientific disciplines, highlighting insights from Southern researchers and their Danish host institutions, and advocating for free research and Southern voices in research policy. Its science journalism is independent of economic and political interests, grounded in fairness, explicit critique, careful source scrutiny, and correction of errors when identified. Registered with the Danish Press Council, DDRN is committed to high-quality, impact-oriented science journalism and aims to expand dialogue with members through new media formats as resources allow.
Role Description The Research Communication Intern will support DDRN’s efforts to communicate research on sustainable development and SDGs to diverse audiences. This internship role is hybrid, based in Copenhagen Municipality with a combination of on-site activities and work from home. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and editing articles, blog posts, and short research summaries, preparing press releases and news updates, and assisting with internal communications to members and partners. The intern will help organize and promote events, contribute to social media and web content, and collaborate with researchers and editors to ensure accuracy and clarity in published materials. The role also involves background research, fact-checking, and contributing ideas to strengthen DDRN’s strategic communications and outreach. Internships are unpaid.
