Role Overview

The Research Scientist is an independent, researcher who will contribute original ideas, lead research threads, and collaborate closely with the Chief Scientist, other researchers, and PhD interns. Research Scientists are expected to set their own research agenda in collaboration with the Chief Scientist and aligned with the company's priority areas. They should be familiar with the latest research and and drive work through to publication.

Role scope will be calibrated to the experience and profile of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Research

• Define and pursue original research questions within the company's priority areas (memory, reasoning, planning, data, simulation, multimodal AI).

• Publish at top AI venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ECCV, etc.).

• Collaborate with research scientists and ML engineers to develop and validate ideas.

• Engage with external academic collaborators and the broader AI research community.

Mentorship

• Mentor PhD interns and junior research scientists.

• Contribute to a rigorous and supportive research culture.

Requirements

Essential

• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, NLP, or a related field.

• Strong publication record at top AI venues.

• Demonstrated ability to independently drive research from idea to publication.

• Deep technical expertise in at least one of: reasoning, memory, multimodal learning, or large-scale model training.

Preferred

• Postdoctoral experience or equivalent independent research experience.

• Experience mentoring students or junior researchers.
