Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement reservoir engineering strategies aligned with asset objectives and business plans.
  • Lead reservoir engineering studies for exploration, appraisal, development, production, and mature-field assets.
  • Evaluate reservoir performance, fluid behavior, pressure response, production trends, and recovery potential.
  • Integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, production, drilling, and reservoir engineering data.
  • Develop and maintain reservoir models and simulation workflows for field development and optimization.
  • Coordinate static and dynamic reservoir modeling activities and ensure appropriate model quality and consistency.
  • Define reservoir characterization requirements, data gaps, uncertainty ranges, and surveillance priorities.
  • Conduct material-balance, pressure-transient, well-performance, decline-curve, and reservoir-performance analyses.
  • Evaluate reservoir drive mechanisms, fluid contacts, compartmentalization, connectivity, and depletion behavior.
  • Develop production forecasts, recovery estimates, reserves evaluations, and development scenarios.
  • Lead field development planning and evaluate alternative well locations, well counts, completion strategies, and production concepts.
  • Assess infill drilling, workover, recompletion, sidetrack, stimulation, and artificial-lift opportunities.
  • Optimize well and reservoir performance through integrated production and reservoir studies.
  • Evaluate water injection, gas injection, pressure maintenance, miscible injection, and other enhanced-recovery opportunities where applicable.
  • Develop reservoir management plans covering pressure management, injection strategy, well sequencing, surveillance, and recovery optimization.
  • Establish reservoir surveillance programs using pressure, production, injection, fluid, tracer, and well-test data.
  • Monitor reservoir performance against forecasts and identify deviations, uncertainties, and corrective actions.
  • Lead reservoir performance reviews and provide recommendations for production optimization.
  • Evaluate well interference, communication, conformance, water breakthrough, gas breakthrough, and reservoir compartmentalization.
  • Support well-test design, pressure-transient analysis, interference testing, and reservoir characterization.
  • Assess PVT data, fluid properties, relative permeability, capillary pressure, and other reservoir-fluid parameters.
  • Coordinate laboratory studies and ensure reservoir engineering requirements are incorporated into testing programs.
  • Review core analysis, special core analysis, PVT reports, well logs, pressure data, and production information.
  • Establish appropriate assumptions, uncertainty ranges, sensitivities, and probabilistic scenarios for reservoir studies.
  • Lead history matching and uncertainty analysis for dynamic reservoir models.
  • Review simulation results and translate technical findings into practical development and operating recommendations.
  • Coordinate reservoir engineering input into annual business plans, budgets, reserves reviews, and long-range development plans.
  • Support reserves and resources estimation in accordance with applicable technical and reporting standards.
  • Ensure reservoir models, reserves estimates, production forecasts, and technical assumptions are properly documented and controlled.
  • Evaluate field economics and work with Finance and Economics teams to assess development and optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare technical and economic comparisons for development concepts, recovery strategies, and reservoir-management options.
  • Support investment decisions through robust reservoir performance forecasts and uncertainty analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to increase recovery, extend field life, reduce production decline, and improve asset value.
  • Support drilling and completion decisions through reservoir pressure, fluid, productivity, and geomechanical considerations.
  • Provide reservoir engineering input into well placement, completion design, stimulation, artificial lift, and production strategies.
  • Coordinate with Production Engineering to optimize well deliverability and reservoir performance.
  • Work with Geoscience teams to improve reservoir characterization and integrate new subsurface information.
