Dana-co, a leading design company of luxury lingerie, is looking for a Retail Planning Analyst to join our Strategic Planning team that provides reports and information to management, sales, merchandising, design, finance, production, and forecasting for day to day running of the business and the execution of sales strategies and initiatives. The process includes maintaining and validating data collection and analyzing retail performance to develop strong conclusions about business trends and opportunities. Necessary qualities of a Retail Planning Analyst include a full understanding of retail metrics, how to spot data trends, accuracy, knowledge of the competitive landscape, and innovative analysis to validate business opportunities. Primary Responsibilities Retail Sales data • Track retail sales and stock • Maintain POS style selling database • Publish weekly selling reports • Seasonal market share analysis • Create management reports • Facilitate best seller meetings • Monthly reports of new product launches Profit Tracking • Maintain detailed log of allowances • Maintain projected markdown liabilities by account • Provides detailed accrual at month end • Track and report on Allowances, Givebacks and Gratis Revenue Budgets • Maintain budget, shipping forecast process including gross shipment and dilution budgets, channel, basic to fashion ratios by account/brand, and flow by month Assist with researching and creating annual revenue and giveback budget spreadsheets Publish annual budgets to sales team and research exceptions Retail Account Profitability • Review and analyze financial reports from accounts by brand (OTB) • Recommend actions and/or suggest alternatives by creating ‘what if’ scenarios • Present to management Additional responsibilities • Communicate between departments as needed • Provide support to management (ad-hoc reporting) • Provide support to Sales (ad hoc reporting) • Partner with Forecasting to provide retail sales data as a check and balance against the forecast Requirements 5 years of professional experience as a planner, analyst, or buyer in department store industry Bachelor’s degree Advanced understanding of Excel, pivot tables, V-lookup, Macros & Microsoft Office Highly analytical, data-driven individual Highly organized and detail-oriented Excellent Math skills Accuracy Hands-on experience with inventory management and planning Excellent at teaming and collaboration Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks/projects Background in lingerie/intimates is a plus Benefits for full-time employees include: Health, vision, and dental insurance Flexible spending accounts Paid Vacation, Sick, Personal time Paid Holidays 401(k) with a company match Parental leave (non-birthing parents included) Short-term disability Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Bereavement Support Education Reimbursement Voluntary benefits include term life insurance, short-term disability, AD&D, critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, and group legal services Employee discounts Equal Opportunity Statement: Dana-co is an inclusive equal opportunity employer committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce.
