Job Title: Retirement Plan Analyst

Reporting to: Senior Director, Retirement Plans

Location: NY 1211 6th Avenue

Type: Hybrid 3 days a week in office

Pay Range: $78,000 - $90,000 + Bonus

Position Overview

The Retirement Plan Analyst serves as the central administrative engine and operational coordinator for News Corp’s retirement programs. Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Retirement Plans and SVP, Global Head of Benefits, this role executes day-to-day vendor coordination, system access administration, wire preparation, account reconciliations, committee recordkeeping, and direct participant support.

While primary fiduciary sign-offs, plan modifications, and funding authorizations remain strictly with senior benefits leadership, this position ensures seamless data flows, regulatory audit readiness, participant advocacy, and operational precision across News Corp’s U.S. operating units. The Retirement Plan Analyst delivers harmonized U.S., Canada, and International retirement administrative support across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Coordination & Core Systems Administration

  • System Access Security Administration: Serve as primary security administrator for the Fidelity PSW portal. Execute granting, tracking, and timely termination of user access rights aligned with corporate security protocols.
  • Participant Data & Transaction Input: Input structural account additions, updates, and participant data modifications directly into the PSW system per plan guidelines.

  • Day-to-Day Vendor Coordination: Act as primary operational liaison for core savings programs, including Fidelity (401(k), Roth, HSA, NQDC). Serve as the point of contact for system management, platform troubleshooting, and data verification.
  • Systems Integration: Support operational data interface workflows across platforms: Fidelity, SunLife, Workday, Ulti-Pro (HRIS & Payroll), Empyrean (Benefits Admin).

Direct Participant & Retiree Support (Customer Service & Advocacy)

  • Ticketing & Queue Management: Manage employee customer service requests submitted through News Corp's ServiceNow portal, email, and meetings.
  • Employee Advocacy & Guidance: Act as the internal advocate with recordkeepers at Fidelity & SunLife to resolve escalated issues; and provide guidance to active employees navigating retirement savings accounts.
  • Legacy & Paper Inquiries: Process paper mailings and historical account trace requests from former employees searching for legacy account balances.
  • Retiree & Pension Assistance: Respond to pension inquiries from retirees and deferred vested participants, assisting with benefit location and statement requests.

Weekly Funding Logistical Preparation & Reconciliation

  • Funding Preparation: Calculate weekly contribution totals across 401(k), HSA, FSA, and Restoration plans. Compile funding backup, assign GL codes, and prepare Wire Transfer Request Forms.
  • Line-Item Reconciliation: Perform weekly verification of contribution files against GL accounts and proactively investigate variances across contribution and loan feeds prior to wire submission.
  • Variance Resolution: Resolve data errors on funding requests, coordinating immediate corrections with payroll teams and recordkeepers to meet daily Treasury cutoffs.
  • Annual True-Up & Match Runs: Compile and audit participant data files for annual 401(k) True-Up match postings and Student Debt Matching contributions.

Fiduciary Committee Coordination & Governance Recordkeeping

  • Committee Logistics & Decks: Assist in assembling quarterly meeting presentation decks, financial dashboards, agendas, and background materials for the Administrative and Pension Investment Committees.
  • Minutes & Archives: Draft committee meeting minutes, track action logs, and organize permanent tracking files, committee communications, and legal amendments for corporate records.
  • Governance Calendar Execution: Support tasks under the Fiduciary Governance Calendar, tracking timely IPS reviews, QDIA evaluations, fee benchmarking, and litigation updates.
  • Audit Preparation & Internal Controls: Compile internal control mapping documentation, including SOC 1 report reviews and CUEC tracking. Draft question logs and prepare audit backup files for leadership review.
  • Compliance Support: Prepare data files for annual Non-Discrimination Testing with Fidelity, Form 5500 filings, and CPA plan audits.

Nonqualified Plans & Defined Benefit Pension Support

  • Restoration Plan Logistical Support: Execute day-to-day administrative tracking for the nonqualified Restoration Plan (managed via Fidelity). Maintain tracking files for dynamic caps, 2-year vesting schedules, and distribution schedules.
  • Supplemental Plans: Maintain administrative tracking files for legacy executive offerings (HarperCollins SERP, Dow Jones SERP, Dow Jones Deferred Compensation Plan & Canada SERP).
  • Defined Benefit Pension Support: Maintain administrative records for the frozen NC Transaction Master Trust, supporting data requests for statutory valuations, PBGC tracking, and pension de-risking analyses with Willis Towers Watson (WTW).
  • Participant Compliance Tracking: Coordinate lost participant search initiatives and Minimum Required Distribution (MRD) tracking logs.

Authority Boundaries & Financial Controls

  • Financial & Wire Approvals: Compile, reconcile, and prepare financial funding schedules and wire transfer request forms for senior management review and sign-off.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

  • Analytical Precision & Operational Execution: Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated ability to manage administrative data flows, perform reconciliations, resolve root-cause data errors, and prepare audit-ready schedules.
  • Customer Service & Advocacy: Strong empathy and clear communication skills to manage employee tickets, advocate on behalf of participants with vendors, and assist retirees navigating pension details.
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree, plus 3–5+ years of progressive administrative and operational experience supporting corporate retirement plans.
  • Technical Infrastructure & Systems: Direct hands-on administrative experience with 401(k) Record Keeping system, Employee ticketing system, Payroll and HRIS, and Benefits Administration.
