Overview
Under the guidance of the Sr. Revenue Manager, the Revenue Analyst is part of the Marketing department and plays a key role in supporting revenue performance and client success.
The Revenue Analyst evaluates and analyzes asset performance using the tools available within AIRM and Apartment IQ. This role requires a strong understanding of pricing applications, revenue management strategies, and related procedures. The Revenue Analyst serves as a trusted advisor to both clients and the Operations team throughout implementation, daily rent pricing management, and ongoing support.
The ideal candidate will develop expertise in pricing applications and revenue management processes while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, performance, and client service. Comprehensive, immersive training is provided to support the individual’s success in the role.
This role requires on-site attendance at our McLean, VA corporate office one day per week between Monday - Thursday, with Friday being a remote work day for the office.
Responsibilities
- Lead the collection, organization, formatting, and analysis of data within the pricing system to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Lead discussions with Operations and Ownership to ensure revenue management strategies are clearly communicated, understood, and effectively executed.
- Review pricing and market rates daily and collaborate with on-site, regional, and asset management teams to address pricing questions and provide strategic guidance.
- Troubleshoot and administer revenue management systems on behalf of internal users, ensuring accurate system configuration, functionality, and utilization.
- Drive renewal strategies in collaboration with the team, utilizing standard and customized benchmarking tools to optimize resident retention and revenue performance.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and team members at all levels of the organization.
- Train clients, operations management, and on-site personnel on revenue management concepts, pricing strategies, and system functionality.
- Monitor and interpret economic, demographic, supply, and demand trends across U.S. markets and assess their potential impact on real estate fundamentals and asset performance.
- Assist with new site implementations and system integrations for AIRM and Apartment IQ, ensuring smooth transitions, accurate setup, and effective adoption.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices related to revenue management systems, pricing strategies, and multifamily revenue optimization.
- Support additional duties, special projects, analyses, and presentations as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of multifamily operations experience required.
- Certified AIRM Revenue Manager designation preferred.
- Experience with Yard is preferred.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and listening skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of data and translate findings into effective pricing strategies.
- Strong accounting and financial knowledge, with an understanding of revenue management and asset performance.
- Ability to assess situations, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Ability to train, coach, and guide clients and team members effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong collaborative skills with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed, up to 25%.
Salary range for this role in the DC/MD/VA region is $87k - $118k
