Applies subject matter expertise in areas including scheduling, registration, authorization, billing, coding, claims management, and reimbursement to improve operational efficiency, data quality, and compliance. Partners with operational stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to evaluate business needs, design solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and support organizational initiatives. Contributes to system governance, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts. This role is primarily focused on outpatient access including but not limited to: Epic Cadence, Referrals, Prelude, RTE and other third-party patient access technologies Essential Functions Performs advanced analysis, design, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Epic Revenue Cycle applications and workflows. Evaluates business requirements and translates operational needs into effective system solutions. Configures and supports functionality related to patient access, scheduling, registration, authorization, billing, claims, and other revenue cycle processes. Identifies opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, data quality, automation, revenue cycle performance, and user experience. Troubleshoots and resolves complex application, workflow, and integration issues through analysis and root cause investigation. Researches Epic functionality and recommends system enhancements to address operational challenges and support organizational objectives. Monitors system performance and application usage to identify areas for optimization and improvement. Participates in application implementations, upgrades, optimizations, and enhancement projects. Assists with planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support activities. Develops and executes integrated, regression, and user acceptance testing for enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality. Validates configuration changes and workflow design to ensure adherence to organizational standards, operational requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Collaborates with revenue cycle leaders, operational stakeholders, IT teams, and governance groups to align system functionality with business needs. Participates in workflow analysis, requirements gathering, design sessions, and solution reviews. Communicates application impacts, proposed solutions, and system changes to stakeholders. Coordinates with Epic, vendors, and technical teams regarding upgrades, releases, integrations, and issue resolution. Supports audit, compliance, and revenue integrity initiatives through review and validation of application settings and workflows. Maintains detailed documentation including workflows, build specifications, support procedures, testing results, and change management activities. Shares knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise with team members and stakeholders. Assists with onboarding, training, and knowledge transfer activities as requested. Participates in continuous improvement efforts focused on operational efficiency, system effectiveness, financial performance, and patient experience. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Requirement : Bachelor’s degree Experience Requirement : 5+ years of experience An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted. Certifications & Licensures: Epic Certified in relevant applications or required within 90 days of hire Working Conditions This position operates in a hybrid work environment, with a combination of remote work and on-site presence at healthcare facilities and corporate offices as needed. Regular interaction with clinical, operational, and technical teams is required. The role may involve occasional travel between locations, participation in after-hours support activities, and response to critical system issues outside of normal business hours. Work is primarily performed in an office setting and requires extended periods of computer use and virtual collaboration. Compliance with all organizational privacy, security, and healthcare regulations is required. Physical Demands This position requires regular sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time; performing tasks with repetitive motions on a regular basis; intermittent standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; occasional standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
