Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Revit Structural Drafter to produce high-quality, coordinated structural drawings for light-gauge steel (CFS) and wood-framed buildings. The successful candidate will create permit-ready construction documents and construction-ready shop drawings while working closely with structural engineers, architects, and project teams. Strong proficiency in Revit and a solid understanding of light-gauge steel and wood-framed structural systems are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate 3D structural models in Autodesk Revit for light-gauge steel (CFS/LGS) and wood-framed buildings.
  • Produce permit-ready structural drawings including plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and notes that meet applicable building codes and jurisdiction requirements.
  • Create construction-ready shop drawings, connection details, framing layouts, and fabrication drawings for light-gauge steel and wood systems.
  • Coordinate structural models and drawings with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to resolve clashes and maintain model integrity.
  • Generate and update framing plans, shear wall layouts, header/beam schedules, hold-down and anchorage details, and typical connection details.
  • Apply company standards, templates, families, and detailing practices consistently across projects.
  • Support modular and panelized construction workflows when applicable, including panel layouts, connection detailing, and coordination with manufacturing/fabrication teams.
  • Perform basic quantity take-offs and assist with material schedules as required.
  • Incorporate engineer mark-ups, redlines, and RFI responses promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain drawing revision control, issue logs, and project documentation.
  • Participate in internal model reviews, quality checks, and coordination meetings.
  • Assist in developing and refining Revit families, templates, and standard details for light-gauge steel and wood framing.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven proficiency in Autodesk Revit for structural modeling and documentation (recent version experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to produce permit-ready structural drawings and construction-ready shop drawings.
  • Solid understanding of structural light-gauge steel (CFS/LGS) construction, including framing principles, connections, and detailing practices.
  • Solid understanding of wood-framed construction, including conventional framing, engineered lumber, shear walls, and related detailing.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Metal Wood Framing (MWF) systems or similar hybrid framing approaches.
  • Experience with Scottsdale Construction Systems software (or comparable light-gauge steel design/detailing software).
  • Understanding of modular, panelized, or prefabricated construction methods and associated detailing/coordination requirements.
  • Experience producing shop drawings for fabrication or modular manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks or other clash detection tools.
  • Prior experience in residential, multifamily projects.

Additional Skills & Attributes

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while following established standards.
  • Willingness to learn company-specific workflows, families, and detailing conventions.
  • Commitment to producing clear, coordinated, and constructible documents.
