RF & Antenna Engineer - First Technical Hire, PLANARIS PLANARIS is building the antenna technology that will define how satellites communicate in the New Space era. We're looking for the engineer who will help shape that technology from the ground up. As our first technical hire, you'll work directly with our scientific founders, influence key architecture decisions, and grow with the company as we scale from lab validation (TRL 4) toward orbit. Backed by foundational patents, 250+ scientific publications, and an active pipeline with Europe's top space integrators, we're looking for a brilliant Fresh Graduate (MSc) or PhD ready to trade the lab bench for real, flight-ready hardware. We are replacing bulky reflectors and power-hungry phased arrays with our proprietary, software-defined thin-film "antenna skins." What You Will Do: Simulate & Model: Design, optimize, and help define the technical roadmap for next-generation reflectarray/transmitarray unit cells using tools like CST, HFSS, or TICRA. Prototype & Test: Participate hands-on in the RF characterization, near-field/far-field antenna range measurements, and mechanical integration setups. Mission Tailoring: Collaborate on link budget and beam-forming optimization for real missions, from commercial LEO constellations and 5G-NTN (Direct-to-Device) to tactical defense applications. IP Expansion: Contribute directly to patent filings, translating novel structural, material, and electromagnetic designs into protected IP. Who You Are: Education: MSc or PhD in Telecommunications, Aerospace, or Electronic Engineering, specialization in RF, Antennas, Electromagnetics, or Satellite Communications. Both fresh graduates and recent PhDs are welcome; what matters most is technical depth and hands-on curiosity. Technical Skills: Familiarity with EM simulation software (HFSS, CST, etc.) and a solid foundation in microwave/antenna theory (space-fed arrays or metasurfaces is a strong asset). Mindset: A problem-solver with a startup hustle. You are passionate about SpaceTech, defense sovereignty, and breaking traditional hardware boundaries. Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish.
