Triumphant Nerd is searching for a Software Engineer, Simulation & Evaluation to build testing infrastructure for our client’s autonomous maritime systems. 🤖

We're looking for a strong C++ engineer with 5+ years of experience building infrastructure or backend systems in robotics. You'll connect recorded vehicle data, simulated environments, and production autonomy software into automated workflows that help engineers validate performance and catch issues before deployment.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of infrastructure or backend software engineering experience in robotics
  • Strong C++ skills and experience building reliable, production-quality systems
  • Hands-on experience with robotics testing infrastructure, including simulation, replay, resimulation, software-in-the-loop, or hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Experience building quantitative evaluation systems, closed-loop simulation infrastructure, metrics, and regression tests
  • Experience developing end-to-end replay and simulation pipelines, ideally using vehicle sensor and perception data
  • Strong fundamentals in concurrency, performance, reliability, and Linux, with an understanding of simulation fidelity and limitations
  • Ability to analyze logs, telemetry, and test failures, turning real-world edge cases into repeatable tests
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Python experience for analysis, automation, or test tooling is a plus
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, physical robotics, or aerospace systems is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Hybrid work in Alameda, CA
  • Salary: Up to $300K plus equity

This is an opportunity to build the infrastructure engineers rely on to test autonomous behavior and improve the reliability of systems operating at sea.
