Show job description

Anglicare Southern Queensland is embarking on an exciting period of transformation as we prepare to implement Optima, our new rostering and workforce management system, alongside Loop, our new shift and leave management platform.

To support these initiatives we are expanding our Centralised Rostering Team and are seeking to appoint six Permanent Full-Time Rostering Officers and two Rostering Officers on 6-month fixed-term contracts based at Eight Mile Plains.

As a Rostering Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of services. Behind every care visit, every support service and every positive client outcome is a workforce that's in the right place at the right time. As a Rostering Officer, you'll be at the centre of making that happen. Your ability to effectively coordinate and manage rosters will help ensure more than 37,000 Queenslanders continue to receive the essential care and support they rely on each year. This is an opportunity to combine your rostering expertise with meaningful work that makes a genuine difference in people's lives and communities across Queensland.

The Centralised Rostering Team operates between 6:00am and 6:00pm, with rostered shifts scheduled across these operating hours.

What's on Offer?

  • $34.6552 per hour
  • Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550 per annum, reducing tax and increasing your take-home pay
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Modern office location at Eight Mile Plains
  • 2 Days WFH
  • Meaningful work supporting the delivery of care and community services across Queensland

What the Role Involves

  • In collaboration with Coordinators, create and manage roster templates to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain rosters that meet operational requirements while ensuring compliance with relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Allocate shifts fairly while considering employee welfare, wellbeing and availability.
  • Fill vacant shifts in a timely manner to minimise service disruption and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
  • Coordinate coverage for planned absences, including annual leave, parental leave and resignations.
  • Source available employees to cover unplanned absences, including sick leave.
  • Review and authorise timesheets daily to support accurate payroll processing and escalate any anomalies as required.
  • Liaise with Scheduling Officers and Payroll Advisors to resolve system, procedural and compliance issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for rostering enquiries.
  • Maintain accurate workforce records, including employee availability, leave requests, service preferences and other relevant information.

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience working in a centralised rostering function.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end rostering processes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced rostering, workforce coordination, administration or scheduling environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with proven data entry accuracy.
  • Ability to assess priorities, manage competing deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Advanced proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and software platforms.
