About the job you're considering
As an RPA NiCE Developer, you'll join a collaborative Agile team delivering enterprise-scale automation solutions for complex business environments. You'll help streamline processes, reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency through intelligent automation, supporting critical business services and wider digital transformation programmes.
You'll design, build, test and support NiCE Automation solutions that integrate with a range of enterprise applications, APIs and databases. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of automation frameworks, development standards and best practices while working on business-critical solutions within a secure, highly regulated environment.
Hybrid working Your working location will vary depending on your role, personal needs, and business requirements. This will typically include a mix of company offices, client sites, and remote work from home. If your location is Telford or Hove you will be expected to work from the office between 40% and 70% of the time. For all other locations you need to be prepared to come into the Telford or Hove office once to twice a month (Lead Engineers more frequently). As we align closely with customer requirements—which may change over time—you will need to remain flexible. Please note that fully remote working (100% from home) is not permitted.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including
identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).
Your role
This is a hands-on RPA NiCE development role where you'll help design, build, test and support automation solutions that deliver tangible business value. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, creating scalable and supportable automations that integrate with enterprise systems, APIs, databases and business-critical applications.
Working within a multi-disciplinary Agile team, you'll collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA Engineers and Live Service teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions. You'll also contribute to the continuous improvement of automation frameworks, engineering standards and delivery practices, helping ensure solutions remain secure, resilient and maintainable.
Beyond delivering high-quality automation solutions, you'll contribute to the wider success of our clients by understanding their objectives, challenging conventional thinking where appropriate and identifying opportunities to improve processes and outcomes. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, collaborative and proactive, with the confidence to engage stakeholders and contribute ideas that drive continuous improvement.
Our culture
We’re looking for people who are learning focused, can challenge the status quo and are constantly looking to shape their working environment to make it an exciting, fun and interesting place to work.
Keeping things fresh is something we encourage in our working practices, but the culture of continuous improvement is equally as important in our technical approach to building and delivering modern digital services. Your knowledge and experience will be used to change the way we build solutions including utilising new tools and technologies to solve new problems or improve existing services.
Working on our services means you’ll be part of a team, but you’ll also be a part of communities of interest. This means you’ll always have people on hand to share and discuss ideas and get help when needed. The engineering organisation is engineering led, supporting each other through coaching and mentoring, so if you want to change something it’s within your power to do so.
Key responsibilities include
- Design, develop and maintain automation solutions using NiCE Automation Studio.
- Translate business requirements and process designs into scalable, supportable automation workflows.
- Develop reusable automation components and framework assets to accelerate delivery and maintain consistency.
- Integrate NiCE automations with APIs, databases, web applications and enterprise systems.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, support guides and deployment artefacts.
- Work with QA teams to support automated and manual testing activities.
- Support automation deployments through development, test and production environments.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, providing second-line support where required.
- Collaborate with architects and platform teams to ensure solutions align with security, governance and operational standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation frameworks, standards and development practices.

- Strong understanding of exception handling, logging, monitoring and supportable automation design.
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience delivering solutions within Agile delivery environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- NiCE Certified Automation Developer certification.
- Experience working within Government, public sector or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience supporting automation solutions in live production environments.
