We're a small, high-impact team, and who we hire matters as much as what we build. As we grow our engineering org, we're looking for a Technical Recruiter based in South Africa to own sourcing and hiring for our Engineering department, with the opportunity to expand into other functions over time.

The Role

We're looking for a Technical Recruiter who can independently own the full recruiting lifecycle for our Engineering team — from sourcing to offer — for a fully distributed, US-based SaaS company. You'll be the primary talent partner for our engineering hiring, and you'll bring a strong point of view on how to identify and attract full stack engineering talent that fits a fast-moving, small-team environment.

This is a contract, standalone recruiting role: you'll work closely with our hiring managers, but you'll be expected to run the process with minimal hand-holding.

Day-to-day, you will:

• Own end-to-end recruiting for Engineering roles: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer management
• Build and maintain a pipeline of full stack engineering talent, drawing on your own network and proactive sourcing
• Partner with hiring managers to translate role requirements into effective sourcing strategy and screening criteria
• Screen candidates against technical and experiential requirements (e.g. stack alignment, greenfield product experience, startup fit)
• Manage candidate communication and experience throughout the process
• Provide regular pipeline updates and hiring metrics to leadership

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Several years of recruiting experience, with a strong track record hiring specifically for Engineering/technical departments
• Deep familiarity with SaaS companies and the full stack engineering hiring landscape
• An existing, active network of engineering talent you can draw on
• Based in South Africa, able to work independently as a contractor
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Comfort working with a fully remote, US-based team across time zones

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience recruiting for early-stage or small engineering teams (sub-50 engineers)
• Familiarity with modern engineering stacks (Python, React/TypeScript, cloud infrastructure) sufficient to screen for technical fit
• Experience using AI-assisted or modern sourcing tools

• You're looking for a long-term contract relationship — this role is expected to expand beyond Engineering into other functions (e.g. Customer Success, Data Entry, Product) as we grow

Engagement Details

• Type: Independent contractor, monthly retainer/salary
• Term: Initial 3-month probationary period, with the expectation of an ongoing engagement based on performance
• Location: South Africa (remote)
• Equipment: Recruiter provides their own computer/equipment
• Taxes: Recruiter is responsible for their own tax obligations as an independent contractor
• Scope: Engineering hiring initially, with future scope to include Customer Success Manager, Data Entry, and Product roles
