There has never been a more important time to join Southern Water. As we move through AMP8, we are delivering one of the most ambitious capital investment programmes in the industry, focused on improving environmental performance, service resilience and long‑term affordability for customers.

About the role

To lead the development, governance and continuous improvement of health, safety and security reporting, data, dashboards and IT systems across Southern Water. The role will ensure HSSW systems are effective, reliable, user-friendly and aligned to business, regulatory and governance requirements, enabling clear insight, strong assurance, better decision-making and improved safety and security outcomes for colleagues, customers, assets and the wider business.

What you will be responsible for

  • Own and continuously improve HSSW reporting processes, ensuring accurate, timely and consistent reporting for operational teams, senior leaders, Executive governance forums and Board-level requirements.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of HSSW dashboards, management information and insight products, including leading and lagging indicators, risk trends, assurance findings, incident data, action tracking and programme progress.
  • Act as the functional lead and subject matter expert for HSSW systems, including EcoOnline, SharePoint, Power BI, Microsoft 365 and other reporting, workflow or assurance tools used by the team.
  • Partner with Digital, Data, Risk, Operations, Security, Health & Safety, Wellbeing and People teams to improve system performance, data quality, automation, user experience and reporting controls.
  • Define and govern HSSW data standards, reporting definitions, ownership models and quality controls to ensure one version of the truth across safety and security reporting.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Proven experience in a reporting, systems, performance, business analyst, data analyst or operational improvement role within a complex organisation.
  • Experience developing dashboards, management information, governance packs and senior reporting for operational or regulated environments.
  • Experience administering, improving or acting as a superuser for business systems, preferably including safety, security, risk, assurance, incident management or workflow platforms.
  • Experience working with data quality, reporting definitions, process controls and system governance.
  • Understanding of performance reporting, dashboard development, data governance and management information principles.
  • Knowledge of business systems administration, system change control, user permissions, testing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to interpret complex data and turn it into clear insight, recommendations and action.
