About the Role
A growing ERP consulting organization is seeking an experienced Sage X3 Functional Consultant specializing in Manufacturing and Distribution to join its professional services team. In this role you will plan, design, develop, and launch Sage X3 solutions that optimize operations for manufacturing and distribution clients. You will combine functional expertise with strong client-facing skills to deliver implementations that drive measurable business value.
Job Description
Project Delivery & SOW Execution
● Conduct analysis of client business processes and functional requirements; prepare documentation to communicate and validate findings.
● Analyze data, evaluate existing systems, and recommend efficient, cost-effective solutions aligned to client needs.
● Document functional requirements, workflows, and system specifications throughout the engagement.
● Identify integration points across client systems and make recommendations for connectivity and configuration.
● Deliver projects on time, within budget, and in a manner that exceeds client expectations.
● Support clients through system testing and user acceptance phases to ensure quality and satisfaction.
● Manage ongoing client relationships including handling questions, resolving issues, writing reports, and performing upgrades.
● Assist the sales team with estimates, proposal generation, product demos, and pre-sales requests as needed.
Functional Product Expertise
● Develop deep subject matter expertise in Sage X3 and serve as an escalation resource for implementation issues.
● Apply technical and business knowledge to analyze client requirements and map them to system functionality.
● Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions including configuration, customization, third-party tools, or process changes.
● Complete required training on product updates and new releases within assigned timeframes.
Industry Knowledge & Team Collaboration
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technology solutions relevant to client environments.
● Interact with peers and leadership to share knowledge, raise critical issues, and suggest process improvements.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders to ensure ongoing satisfaction and trust.
● Proactively create opportunities to engage clients and share expertise to drive the highest levels of service quality.
Requirements
● Experience implementing Sage X3 within Manufacturing and Distribution environments.
● Hands-on knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs), production scheduling, shipping workflows, and related manufacturing processes.
● Experience with EDI integrations and the ability to identify and address integration requirements across client supply chain systems.
● 5+ years of Sage X3 ERP implementation experience, or implementation of comparable ERP platforms (Epicor, Infor, Syspro, ProcessPRO, MS Dynamics).
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
● Proven consulting background with a track record of delivering complex software solutions on time and within budget.
● Strong ability to translate business requirements into functional solution specifications.
● Experience facilitating requirements and design sessions through interviews, workshops, and prototype demonstrations.
● Ability to effectively document both business and technical designs for internal and client audiences.
● Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to manage a network of client stakeholders.
● Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments.
● This is a remote role requiring a minimum of 50% travel to client sites across the US.
