Sales & Business Development Manager — HOMURA
About HOMURA
HOMURA is a curatorial house of collectible rugs, rooted in Iranian heritage and a contemporary editorial eye.
We choose curation over production, individually sourcing singular handwoven pieces from weaving cultures, starting in Morocco. Working with women-led cooperatives and associations, we bring fresh attention to existing craftsmanship, with the weavers’ own creative expression at the centre.
Our approach offers an alternative to constant new production and the fast-fashion mindset in interiors: pieces chosen for their character, cultural significance and lasting place in a home.
We work with private collectors, architects, interior designers, retailers and hospitality professionals through our online selection and personalised sourcing service.
The opportunity
We are looking for a commercially driven, thoughtful and independent person to take ownership of HOMURA’s sales development.
Working directly with our Founder & Curator, you will help translate the house’s vision into a growing client base, meaningful partnerships and consistent sales.
This is a hands-on role covering the full client journey: identifying opportunities, opening conversations, understanding a project, presenting the right proposal, closing a sale and maintaining the relationship afterwards.
An immediate priority will be developing our B2B network and Trade Program, alongside supporting private clients.
Your responsibilities
Develop new business
• Identify and approach architects, interior designers, concept stores, galleries, hotels and other relevant partners.
• Research prospects and create personalised approaches that reflect their work and HOMURA’s positioning.
• Build a steady pipeline through direct outreach, introductions, meetings and industry events.
• Recognise opportunities for residential, hospitality and retail projects, as well as longer-term collaborations.
• Turn initial interest into qualified conversations, proposals and confirmed orders.
Build our professional network
• Introduce HOMURA’s Trade Program and explain our selection, personalised sourcing services and trade terms.
• Develop relationships with professionals who can specify, purchase or recommend our pieces.
• Identify suitable retail and showroom partnerships and follow them through from first discussion to implementation.
• Stay in contact with partners, understand their upcoming projects and make relevant recommendations.
Advise and accompany clients
• Understand each client’s space, aesthetic preferences, dimensions, budget and timeline.
• Present available pieces and explain their materials, weaving traditions and individual character.
• Work with our curators to translate personalised sourcing requests into clear briefs.
• Introduce our TrueView / In Situ tool to help clients visualise available rugs at scale in their own space.
• Prepare selections, quotations and proposals, and follow up with care and consistency.
• Coordinate with the team on availability, delivery and after-sales enquiries.
Create lasting relationships
• Provide attentive service throughout the buying journey and after delivery.
• Follow up with previous clients and identify opportunities for repeat purchases, referrals and new projects.
• Build trust through relevant advice, clear communication and reliable follow-through.
• Ensure that every commercial interaction reflects the care and sensibility of the house.
Structure and improve sales
• Maintain an accurate CRM with contacts, project details, opportunities and next steps.
• Establish an organised rhythm for prospecting, follow-ups and client relationship management.
• Work with the founder to set clear commercial priorities and measurable sales objectives.
• Track pipeline development, conversion, revenue and repeat business.
• Share client feedback and market observations to improve our proposals, services and sales materials.
• Collaborate with our communications team to turn relevant enquiries and engagement into sales opportunities.
Who we are looking for
You enjoy developing business as much as building relationships. You can confidently initiate a conversation, listen closely to a client and move an opportunity forward.
You bring:
• Experience in sales, business development or account management, ideally within interiors, design, furniture, collectible objects, luxury or hospitality.
• A track record of generating opportunities and converting them into sales.
• An understanding of how architects, interior designers, retailers or hospitality buyers work.
• An interest in craftsmanship, textiles and the stories behind objects.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to adapt your approach to different clients.
• Confidence discussing prices, preparing proposals and negotiating within agreed commercial terms.
• Excellent organisation and consistent follow-through.
• The independence to manage your pipeline and the initiative to propose new opportunities.
• Confidence using CRM tools and working collaboratively with a remote team.
• Professional fluency in English; French and other languages are an advantage.
An established network in interiors, architecture, retail or hospitality would be a strong asset.
Working arrangement & compensation
The role is remote, with no requirement to work from a HOMURA office.
In-person client meetings, showroom visits and relevant industry events form part of the role.
We are open to full-time, part-time, freelance and independent sales agent arrangements, depending on your experience, location and availability.
Compensation combines a fixed component with commission on sales. Terms will be discussed according to the market, scope of responsibilities and collaboration format.
How to apply
Send us your CV or LinkedIn profile, together with a short introduction covering:
• Your relevant sales and business development experience.
• The markets and client types you know best.
• One or two examples of business or partnerships you have developed.
• Your location, availability and preferred collaboration format.
Please contact Jess Weistroffer, Founder & Curator, via LinkedIn or send us an email at info@homura.com.co
