About Talent Advantage
Talent Advantage is a recruitment and staffing firm headquartered in the Greater Toronto Area. We help companies across Canada and the US hire permanent and contract talent in accounting and finance, sales and marketing, engineering and construction, HR and legal, and executive leadership. Alongside traditional placements, we offer a fractional recruiting model: companies get an embedded recruiting partner for a flat monthly fee instead of paying per-hire placement fees.
We're a small, growing team, and this role has a direct impact on how quickly we grow.
About the Role
As a Sales Development Representative, you'll be the first point of contact between Talent Advantage and the companies we want to work with. You'll find and reach out to hiring leaders, start real conversations through personalised video and LinkedIn outreach, follow up across different channels, and book discovery calls for our leadership team.
This is not a copy-and-paste role. We win attention with creative, personal outreach, and we'll teach you how to do it well. If you're competitive, curious, comfortable on camera, and want to build a career in B2B sales, this is a strong place to start.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage a pipeline of target companies and decision-makers (founders, HR leaders, talent acquisition managers) in Canada and the US.
- Send personalised LinkedIn connection requests and start conversations with prospects.
- Record short, personalised LinkedIn selfie videos and Loom videos for each prospect.
- Run multi-touch follow-up sequences over LinkedIn, email, voice notes, and phone.
- Book qualified discovery calls with prospects, and join or run intro calls as you grow in the role.
- Keep the CRM and outreach tools (e.g. Lemlist) accurate and up to date.
- Send a short end-of-day report on activity, replies, meetings booked, and what you learned.
- Help build our brand on LinkedIn by posting and engaging 3–5 times a week.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 90 days, you'll learn our services, our ideal clients, and our outreach approach, then build up to full daily activity. Once you're ramped up, a typical day includes around 30 personalised connection requests, 20–30 personalised video messages, and 20–30 follow-ups. The goal is a reply rate of about 10% and 2–3 qualified meetings booked each week, growing from there as you improve.
We look at quality as well as volume. Thoughtful personalisation, consistent follow-up, and full ownership of your pipeline, from first touch to booked call, matter as much as the numbers.
What We're Looking For
- 0–2 years of experience in sales, business development, lead generation, customer service, or recruitment (sales or recruitment agency experience is a strong plus).
- Excellent written and spoken English, and confidence on camera and on the phone.
- A self-starter who can work remotely with discipline, hit daily targets, and manage their own time.
- Resilience: you can handle no-replies and rejection and keep going.
- Curiosity about businesses and people, and the ability to research a prospect quickly and find a genuine reason to reach out.
- Comfortable with tech tools such as LinkedIn, Loom, CRMs, and Google Workspace. Experience with Sales Navigator or Lemlist is a bonus.
- A reliable laptop, a stable internet connection, and a backup plan for load shedding.
What We Offer
- $1,000–$1,250 USD per month base salary, depending on experience.
- Uncapped commission for each qualified meeting booked, plus a bonus for each meeting that becomes a signed client.
- A permanent, fully remote role with flexible hours.
- Hands-on training and coaching in outbound sales, video prospecting, and the recruitment industry.
- A clear path to grow into a Senior SDR or Business Development role as the company grows.
- Experience selling to North American companies.
How to Apply
Send your CV to info@talentadvantage.ca along with a short (60–90 second) Loom or selfie video telling us about yourself and why you'd be great at this role. Candidates who send a video will be reviewed first. After all, this is exactly what you'll be doing every day.
