About the role

As the technical expert supporting our sales team, you'll own the path from discovery to demo. You'll learn how a prospect's finance team actually works and find the one workflow where an AI agent would change their month. Then you'll build that agent on their own data and show it to them.

What you'll own

• Lead technical and process discovery with CFOs, Controllers and accounting teams: close process, reconciliations, intercompany, reporting, where the manual work sits
• Scope the demo that will matter most to each prospect, based on their workflows and data
• Build and deliver demos and POCs independently, end to end, on our platform using the prospect's data, and handle technical, security and data objections in the room
• Call it early when a deal isn't a fit: know what we can deliver without custom engineering and what we can't, and turn what you learn in discovery into a list of what the platform supports and what it doesn't, so gaps surface before signature, not at kickoff
• Become the person finance leaders trust on the domain: someone who understands their close as well as they do, not just the product
• Create reusable demo templates, discovery frameworks and assets so every custom demo takes less work than the one before
• Turn what you hear across deals into concrete input for product, and work with them directly on what we build next

• Enjoy working closely with Product, Engineering, and leadership rather than staying in a sales silo

Requirements

• A strong background in finance or accounting. You've done close reconciliations or financial operations yourself, or worked closely enough with finance teams to speak their language and understand their pain. This is a must.
• 4-7+ years of total experience with 2 or more years as a customer-facing SE at an ERP or FP&A platform
• Hands-on with data and building: strong SQL and Excel, and comfort configuring workflows, writing prompts or scripting to get an agent working on messy real-world data
• You've built with LLMs or AI tools yourself (agents, automations, workflows) and can show us something you made
• Able to run a room: clear, confident and credible with senior finance buyers, and able to help them trust and adopt AI in their workflows
• Comfortable being the only person in your role and building process where none exists yet.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent accounting certification
• Experience at an early-stage startup
• Experience with close-management or finance-automation products
