We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We're looking for a Sales Manager to lead our growing Strategic (SMB) Account Executive team. You'll coach and empower your AEs to help prospective law firms discover the value of Clio's Intelligent Legal Work Platform, which brings together legal AI and our broader portfolio of practice management, client intake, and document automation solutions. This role is for a high-energy leader who thrives in a rapid-growth environment, is passionate about developing people, and wants to shape how a team sells in a fast-moving, AI-driven market.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales, you will implement best practices, optimize sales strategy, and support your AEs in building pipeline and managing their territories, balancing inbound, outbound, and partner opportunities to maximize growth. Because our product is evolving fast, you'll also keep your team current and confident selling and demoing it.

What Your Team Does

Our Strategic Account Executive team is growing and committed to driving Clio's value for law firms. They build and manage a diverse pipeline, conduct impactful discovery calls, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and support technical evaluations while addressing complex business needs in the legal space. By collaborating with Solution Engineers, Channel Partners, BDRs, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams, they create customized solutions for clients. This team embodies a high-performance culture, working collaboratively to drive Clio's mission to transform the legal experience for all, helping law firms run their practice and adopt AI with confidence.

What You'll Work On

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Strategic Account Executives, from hiring and onboarding through weekly 1:1s, deal reviews, and accountability to KPIs
  • Own territory planning, forecasting, and attainment against monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and logo targets, and step into complex deals and negotiations as a player-coach
  • Coach AEs to build and convert pipeline across outbound, inbound, BDR, Channel Partner, and product-led sources
  • Keep your team sharp on Clio's expanding portfolio, including our AI products, turning product and go-to-market changes into practical coaching for live demos and deals
  • Build the operating rhythm that makes results repeatable, and bring AI into how your team works for research, prep, follow-up, and deal inspection
  • Partner with Solution Engineering, BDRs, Channel Partnerships, Marketing, Customer Success, Enablement, Product, and RevOps, and bring field feedback back to the teams building Clio

What You May Have

  • 5+ years of B2B technology sales experience, including at least 2 years of people management experience leading, developing, and coaching high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience driving new business revenue through a consultative sales approach across inbound, outbound, partner-sourced, and product-led sales motions.
  • Strong sales coaching capabilities, with the ability to guide AEs through complex sales cycles, deal strategy, objection handling, and negotiation.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to improve productivity, effectiveness, and decision-making, with sound judgment on where AI adds value.
  • A systems-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify process gaps, solve root causes, and build scalable, repeatable ways of working.
  • Experience leading teams through change, maintaining focus, performance, and momentum as products, priorities, and market conditions evolve.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, paired with a competitive, results-driven mindset.
  • A proven ability to build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance, inspiring people to grow and consistently raise the bar.

This role is a backfill for an existing position.
