Job description

About the Role

The Sales Support Specialist plays an important role in enabling our sales organization to focus on customers and business growth. Based in Mexico (Santa Fe), this position will support Castrol’s western U.S. distributor business, primarily across passenger car and heavy-duty lubricants.

You will work closely with sales teams, Distributor Business Managers, regional stakeholders, and distributors, helping resolve customer needs, maintain accurate commercial information, support sales processes, and identify where the business is gaining or losing opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, working with different stakeholders, learning how a commercial organization operates, and using data and digital tools to support better business decisions.

Key Tasks

  • Act as a key point of contact for sales teams and distributors, helping resolve day-to-day customer, supply, billing, rebate, pricing, and operational inquiries.
  • Support distributor and customer onboarding, account setup, and ongoing account maintenance.
  • Help sales teams and Distributor Business Managers identify solutions for new and existing customers and navigate internal processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of key commercial activities, including TurfView activities, CET processes, credits, price adjustments, and distributor communications.
  • Maintain accurate customer and distributor information across commercial systems and databases.
  • Use Salesforc, Excel, Power BI, Castrol Insights, and other digital tools to maintain information, support analysis, and provide visibility into business performance.
  • Support the sales organization in understanding where the business is gaining or losing volume and help provide information that supports commercial decisions.
  • Coordinate across internal teams to find answers and resolve issues, keeping sales teams and customers informed throughout the process.
  • Support communications related to commercial programs, promotions, pricing, and slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Assist with special projects and commercial initiatives, including distributor meetings, training activities, and logistics coordination.
  • Look for opportunities to simplify processes and improve the way the sales organization and distributors are supported.

Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in sales support, sales operations, customer service, commercial operations, distributor support, or a related area.
  • Experience working with a CRM platform such as Salesforce.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/data visualization tools is an advantage.
  • Strong English communication skills, as the role works closely with U.S.-based stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating with colleagues across different locations.
  • Customer-focused mindset and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and connect with the right people to find solutions.
  • Experience within distributor, automotive, lubricants, or B2B environments is beneficial but not essential.
