Salesforce Developer

About the Role
The Digital Team is looking for a Salesforce Developer. In this role you will design and develop new features in our digital (Salesforce) platforms using Apex and Lightning Web Components, and you will also configure and improve standard Salesforce functionality such as Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Service Cloud, and AI features like Agentforce and Einstein. You report to the Salesforce Architect and work closely with other members of the Digital scrum team, a fun team with skilled people from various nationalities based in our headquarters in Amsterdam and in Pune. This is a role for someone who enjoys both building and configuring, and who wants to keep growing on the Salesforce platform.

About the Team
The Digital Team at Top Employers Institute is responsible for the development and support of the digital platforms which includes Salesforce Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud (Portal), Pardot, CRM Analytics, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce, etc. These digital platforms support the core business processes for Marketing, Sales, Operations (Certifications) and Finance, and provide our clients with access to the survey, analytical insights and best practices. We are increasingly building AI capabilities, such as Salesforce Agentforce and Einstein, into these platforms and into the way we work.

What You’ll Do

• Develops solutions on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow and platform APIs, following the team standards and best practices
• Configures and maintains standard Salesforce functionality, such as Sales Cloud (leads, opportunities, products, reports and dashboards), forecasting, validation rules, automation and security settings, and knows when configuration is a better answer than code
• Builds and configures AI capabilities on the Salesforce platform, such as Agentforce agents with custom actions (Apex, Flow, APIs), prompt templates and Einstein features
• Translates requirements from Marketing, Sales, Operations and Finance into working solutions, together with the Salesforce Architect and the other team members, so that new developments fit in the overall solution architecture
• Actively contributes in sprint ceremonies: refinements, planning, reviews and retrospectives
• Collaborates with other developers during code reviews, and writes Apex unit tests for own work
• Delivers concise documentation of implemented features
• Uses the continuous integration and deployment tools and processes, and supports their improvement
• Uses AI-assisted development tools to work faster and at higher quality, while remaining fully accountable for reviewing, testing and securing everything that is delivered
• Exchanges knowledge and ideas with other team members

Key Areas & Main Activities
Contributing in the application development process:

• Develops, tests and deploys Salesforce features for defined user stories, with guidance from the Salesforce Architect and senior colleagues where needed
• Configures, maintains and improves standard Salesforce functionality, including Sales Cloud, forecasting, reports and dashboards, and automation
• Develops and maintains integrations of applications with the Salesforce platform
• Designs, builds and tests AI features on the Salesforce platform (for example Agentforce agents and actions, prompt templates and integrations with AI services), grounded in Salesforce data and with guardrails for accuracy, security, data privacy and cost
• Analyses and resolves bugs and support requests from business users

Gain and share knowledge:

• Actively builds knowledge of the Salesforce platform, its standard functionality and development best practices, and keeps own skills and certifications up to date
• Pro-actively reaches out to colleagues to understand company goals, delivery processes, business processes, existing implementations, etc.
• Keeps up with the Salesforce AI roadmap (Agentforce, Einstein, Data Cloud), tries out new features, evaluates where AI adds value to our business processes and shares learnings with the team

What We're Looking For
Qualification Criteria:

• Fluent in English
• Good communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in an international organization
• 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience with Apex and Lightning Web Components development
• Good knowledge of Salesforce standard functionality, such as Sales Cloud and forecasting, and the motivation to deepen it. This role is not only about writing code, so we look for someone who is willing to take ownership of standard configuration and to learn new Salesforce features
• Good hands-on experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML
• Good understanding of the Salesforce platform, its limitations (such as governor limits) and best practices to develop scalable solutions
• Understanding of how generative AI works and of its limitations (such as hallucinations, data privacy and cost), and curiosity to learn and apply Salesforce AI features such as Agentforce and Einstein responsibly
• Experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day development, combined with careful review and testing of generated code
• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub and of DevOps processes
• Experience with Salesforce CLI and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
• Experience with integrations using REST APIs is a plus
• Hands-on experience building AI features on Salesforce (Agentforce, Prompt Builder, Einstein, or calling external AI services from Apex) is a plus
• Experience with Experience Cloud (Customer Communities) is a plus
