Salesforce Forward Deployed Engineer
Most Salesforce roles fall into one of two traps: you are either stuck doing basic platform config and drag-and-drop admin, or you are writing endless functional specs in a consulting agency with zero hands-on engineering time.
This position is built differently. You are embedded directly into enterprise environments as a hands-on developer, writing production code and architecting complex integrations where standard Salesforce out-of-the-box features hit a wall.
What is in it for you
- Compensation: Up to R110,000 pm, matching your technical depth.
- Work Setup: Remote-first in South Africa.
- Perks & Progression: Fully funded Salesforce certifications (including Platform Developer II and Architecture tracks), company-supplied hardware, and annual performance-based cash bonuses.
- Pure Engineering: Skip the endless slide decks and build actual software, from custom Lightning Web Components to automated release pipelines.
What you will be doing
- Custom Development: Build programmatic solutions using Apex, LWC, and JavaScript for enterprise applications.
- System Integration: Connect Salesforce to core legacy systems using MuleSoft, REST/SOAP APIs, and event-driven tools like Kafka or Pub/Sub API.
- Data Architecture: Design models capable of handling Large Data Volumes (LDV), optimise SOQL/SOSL performance, and ensure strict POPIA/GDPR compliance.
- DevOps & Delivery: Set up continuous integration and automated release management using Salesforce DX, Git, and tools like Copado or Gearset.
What you need to bring
- Deep hands-on development experience using Apex, LWC, JavaScript, and SOQL.
- Direct experience architecting integrations using MuleSoft, APIs, or enterprise service buses.
- Practical knowledge of Salesforce DX, Git version control, and automated deployment tooling.
- Solid understanding of Multi-Cloud architecture, security models, and handling Large Data Volumes in production.
