Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Performance Tester with strong hands-on expertise in Apache JMeter to join our team on a remote, contractual basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in performance testing, load testing, stress testing, scalability testing, and performance optimization of Salesforce applications and their integrated systems.
The candidate should be proficient in designing and executing performance test scripts using JMeter, analyzing test results, identifying performance bottlenecks, and collaborating with Salesforce developers, architects, administrators, and integration teams to ensure application stability, scalability, and optimal performance under varying workloads.
Experience testing Salesforce platforms, APIs, integrations, and end-to-end business workflows is essential.
Key Responsibilities
1. Salesforce Performance Testing
-
Design, develop, and execute performance test strategies and test plans for Salesforce applications.
-
Perform load testing, stress testing, spike testing, endurance testing, and scalability testing for Salesforce implementations.
-
Validate Salesforce application performance under varying user loads and transaction volumes.
-
Test Salesforce modules, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other Salesforce solutions, as applicable.
-
Evaluate the performance of critical business workflows, including record creation, updates, searches, reports, dashboards, and complex transactions.
-
Identify performance issues related to Salesforce configurations, customizations, Apex transactions, Lightning components, and integrations.
2. Apache JMeter Expertise
-
Develop, maintain, and execute performance test scripts using Apache JMeter.
-
Configure Thread Groups, HTTP Request Samplers, Controllers, Timers, Assertions, Listeners, and other JMeter components.
-
Create parameterized and data-driven test scripts using CSV files, variables, and correlation techniques.
-
Implement authentication and session-management mechanisms required for performance testing.
-
Work with REST and SOAP APIs, HTTP/HTTPS requests, headers, cookies, tokens, and request payloads.
-
Design reusable test scripts and modular test plans to support multiple test scenarios.
-
Execute distributed and non-GUI load tests for large-scale performance testing.
-
Analyze JMeter test results to evaluate response times, throughput, error rates, and concurrent-user performance.
3. Salesforce API and Integration Testing
-
Conduct performance testing of Salesforce REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Bulk APIs, and other relevant interfaces.
-
Test integrations between Salesforce and external systems, middleware platforms, and third-party applications.
-
Validate API response times, throughput, reliability, and error handling under concurrent loads.
-
Understand OAuth 2.0 authentication, access tokens, refresh tokens, and API request limits.
-
Identify bottlenecks in API calls, integration services, and downstream dependencies.
-
Evaluate the impact of concurrent requests and data volumes on Salesforce API performance.
4. Performance Analysis and Optimization
-
Analyze performance metrics, response-time distributions, throughput, latency, and error rates.
-
Identify bottlenecks in application workflows, APIs, integrations, and backend processes.
-
Collaborate with Salesforce developers and architects to investigate slow transactions and performance degradation.
-
Review relevant Salesforce debug logs, execution limits, Apex performance, and platform-specific constraints.
-
Recommend performance improvements based on test findings and available monitoring data.
-
Conduct regression performance testing after fixes and configuration changes.
5. Reporting and Stakeholder Collaboration
-
Prepare detailed performance test reports, dashboards, and execution summaries.
-
Document test scenarios, workload models, test data requirements, assumptions, and results.
-
Present performance findings, bottlenecks, risks, and recommendations to technical stakeholders.
-
Work closely with QA teams, Salesforce developers, architects, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders.
-
Participate in defect triage, root-cause analysis, and performance review meetings.
-
Maintain performance testing documentation and reusable test assets.
Required Technical Skills
-
6–9 years of experience in software testing, with strong hands-on experience in performance testing.
-
Strong practical experience with Apache JMeter for scripting, execution, and performance analysis.
-
Proven experience in performance testing of Salesforce applications and Salesforce-based solutions.
-
Hands-on experience with load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability testing.
-
Strong understanding of REST APIs, SOAP APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and web protocols.
-
Experience with API authentication, OAuth 2.0, token handling, parameterization, and correlation.
-
Knowledge of performance metrics such as response time, throughput, latency, concurrent users, and error rate.
-
Experience analyzing test results and identifying application and integration bottlenecks.
-
Understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, governor limits, Apex transactions, and API limits.
-
Experience with test data management, defect tracking, and performance test documentation.
-
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
