The Salesforce Software Developer Role
We’re looking for a Senior Salesforce Software Engineer to own delivery end-to-end, from requirements through production support, and to help set the technical bar for the rest of the team. You’ll work across Salesforce administration and development, CPQ/CLM, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and the broader ecosystem of connected tools (Boomi, NetSuite, and more). We care about clean, maintainable, well-tested code, and we want someone who drives that standard, not just meets it.
What makes this role interesting?
· We’re moving away from the old admin/developer split toward full-lifecycle ownership, where the same engineer who gathers requirements can also ship and support the feature. This role sits at the center of that shift.
· You’ll be one of the people other engineers look to for how that ownership works in practice, and your judgment will shape the team’s technical standards, not just your own code.
· You’ll work across Salesforce and the systems around it (CPQ/CLM, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Boomi, NetSuite), so the problems are broad, real and rarely boring.
· It’s a springboard into technical leadership: staff engineer, architect, or engineering management, depending on what you want, with real influence over the team’s direction.
· The big challenge: taking rough, ambiguous requirements and turning them into sound technical plans, and tracking down root causes in complex cross-system issues rather than settling for a patch.
Here’s how you’ll be making an impact:
· Own features end-to-end: requirements, design, implementation, testing, code review, deployment and production support.
· Architect solutions across Salesforce and connected systems (Boomi, NetSuite and other integrated platforms) with scalability, maintainability and long-term technical debt in mind.
· Write and review Apex, Lightning Web Components and Flows with an eye for testability, performance and security.
· Set technical direction: weigh in on architecture decisions, flag risk early, and push back when an approach trades long-term health for short-term speed.
· Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code review, design discussions and day-to-day pairing.
· Lead by example on Git/GitHub practices: branching strategy, PR hygiene and CI/CD.
· Debug complex, cross-system issues (Salesforce ↔ Boomi ↔ NetSuite) and get to root cause, not just a patch.
· Partner with BSAs to close the gap between “requirements” and buildable, testable stories.
· Help drive process improvements across the squad, including Definition of Ready/Done, sprint ceremonies and review standards.
We’re looking for a teammate with:
· Several years of professional Salesforce development experience, including complex Apex, LWC and integration work.
· Strong software engineering fundamentals: data structures, testing strategy, design patterns and maintainability, not just “make the button work”.
· Deep, hands-on Git/GitHub experience: comfortable owning branching strategy, resolving thorny merge conflicts and reviewing others’ PRs critically.
· Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems (middleware like Boomi/MuleSoft, ERPs like NetSuite, or similar).
· A track record of mentoring or leading other developers, formally or informally.
· Comfortable owning ambiguity: you can take a rough requirement and turn it into a technical plan.
· Strong communication skills: you can explain trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
We care about depth of experience, not badges: no specific certification checklist and no prior formal “architect” title required.
