Linklaters
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
This role is based in our London office, with a hybrid working model available.
Your Role
As Salesforce Solution Architect, you will lead the design and assurance of Salesforce solutions supporting the Firm’s marketing, business development and business management capabilities. You will translate business requirements and architectural direction into secure, scalable and supportable solutions for our lawyers and business teams globally across Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, CRM Analytics, and Introhive.
- Own solution designs across Salesforce and its integrations, from discovery through implementation and transition to service, aligned with the Client Systems roadmap and enterprise standards.
- Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, map processes, and agree functional and non-functional acceptance criteria.
- Assess solution options and explain their benefits, costs, and risks, favouring standard platform capabilities and justified customisation to control complexity and technical debt.
- Produce and maintain solution designs, data models, and technical specifications that provide clear direction to delivery teams and service owners.
- Act as a consultative technical point of contact for business stakeholders, providing clear guidance in response to their technical questions.
- Leverage hands-on expertise in Salesforce platform capabilities to assure the development of enhancements and features by our implementation partners.
- Communicate the positive and negative impact that decisions will have on immediate and longer-term operations, specifically working to avoid building up technical and/or operational debt.
- Identify opportunities for improvements and optimisations, making recommendations on next steps and working to implement those recommendations as selected by stakeholders.
- Ensure the Firm’s business strategy, technology strategy and market trends are aligned in solutions designed and delivered, whilst driving business value from strategic investments.
- Act as a Trusted Advisor, through engagement with the Practice and Business Teams, providing strategic technology advice that is easily consumed by all stakeholder levels across the Firm.
About you
- A key technical authority, bringing a deep, authoritative knowledge of the technical elements of Salesforce that you can frame in the context of business operations to deliver the best possible outcome from the investment.
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce clouds being implemented by Linklaters in addition to expert proficiency in Flow declarative tools and working understanding of Apex.
- Good understanding and practical experience of ITIL processes and project management best practices including Agile principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and liaise with senior stakeholders and partners.
- Ability to prioritise demanding workloads alongside resilience and the ability to remain calm and objective under pressure.
- Previous experience of working in product teams, following agile delivery methodology would be advantageous.
As an experienced technology professional, you will:
- have practical experience in a strategic and/or senior technical role, within an IT system driven environment, ideally within a professional services and/or international organisation;
- be an enthusiastic and creative problem solver, displaying an eagerness for change, open to new ideas, initiatives and continuous improvement;
- be a pragmatic and logical decision maker, with proven influence and leadership skills;
- have proven ability to lead others to achieve a mutually acceptable solution from both a commercial and technical perspective;
- be an articulate and confident communicator with all levels of stakeholder seniority, both within and outside the organisation;
- possess strong written skills, in particular in specification documents, technical authoring and procedures;
- plan, manage and review activities efficiently;
- have a strong understanding and appreciation of mainstream technology and mainstream technology providers, with a keen interest in the future advances of technology and the opportunities they offer;
- understand the core concepts, key principles and techniques of system development and service management disciplines;
