About the client
Our client is an established German automotive supplier with a global footprint and a history spanning more than 150 years. As a family-owned business, they combine the stability of a long-term employer with the pace of an industry going through rapid technological change.
They are currently building a new SAP Service Center in Cluj-Napoca, which will support and develop their international SAP landscape. This is a genuine build-from-scratch opportunity, the team is being formed now, and the people who join early will help shape how it works.

About the role

As an SAP ABAP Consultant with a focus on FI, you will develop, enhance and maintain the SAP applications that support the finance side of an international SAP landscape.

This is primarily a technical role, focused on ABAP development, enhancements, troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Beyond writing code, you will work closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand financial processes and turn business requirements into technical solutions.

You don’t need to be an SAP FI functional consultant or an expert in FI customizing. What matters is your ABAP experience, your problem-solving skills and a genuine curiosity about how financial business processes work.

You will work as part of a newly formed team in Cluj, in close cooperation with the central SAP team in Germany.

Responsibilities

• Developing, enhancing and maintaining SAP ABAP solutions, with a particular focus on SAP FI applications and processes

• Building and maintaining reports, interfaces, forms, enhancements and custom developments

• Collaborating with SAP FI consultants, key users and business stakeholders to understand requirements

• Analysing and troubleshooting technical issues affecting financial processes

• Supporting integration points between SAP FI and other SAP modules, including MM and SD

• Contributing to SAP ECC optimization and future S/4HANA transformation initiatives

• Proactively identifying opportunities to improve existing SAP solutions and processes

Qualifications

• Hands-on SAP ABAP development experience

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

• Understanding of, or strong interest in learning, SAP FI business processes

• Ability to collaborate with functional teams and translate requirements into technical solutions

• Curiosity, ownership and a business-oriented mindset

• Nice to have: previous ABAP development experience in SAP FI

• Nice to have: familiarity with GL, AP, AR and financial reporting processes

• Nice to have: experience with BAdIs, User Exits, BAPIs, IDocs, SmartForms or Adobe Forms

• Nice to have: knowledge of SAP ECC or S/4HANA

• Nice to have: exposure to SAP FI integration with MM or SD
