SAP Basis Consultant

Job Description Job Title: SAP Basis Consultant Job Type: Full-Time Job Location: San Diego, CA (Remote with Occasional Travel) Job Summary: Genesis Consulting is seeking a Senior SAP Basis Consultant to support the administration, performance, availability, maintenance, and enhancement of a large-scale SAP ERP environment. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of senior-level SAP Basis experience, strong hands-on expertise across SAP applications and databases, and experience supporting complex hybrid environments and SAP transformations. This role will support ongoing production operations, upgrades, enhancements, system administration, and migration initiatives, including the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud. Duties and Responsibilities: · Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize SAP environments to ensure 24x7 availability and performance. · Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance of SAP applications, add-ons, plug-ins, and vendor components. · Support SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server databases, including administration, backup, recovery, and performance management. · Administer SAP ABAP and Java NetWeaver environments. · Perform system and client refreshes, TMS administration, transport management, and troubleshooting. · Conduct performance monitoring, tuning, root cause analysis, and issue resolution. · Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation. · Assist with SAP and non-SAP system integrations and interfaces. · Support application printing infrastructure and end-user technical issues. · Evaluate infrastructure requirements, including cloud, server, operating system, storage, and network needs. · Provide technical support to SAP users, functional teams, development teams, and project stakeholders. · Represent the Basis team on SAP projects and ensure quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines. · Support ECC-to-S/4HANA migration and transformation initiatives. · Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex technical issues into clear recommendations and solutions. · Work effectively in a metrics- and KPI-driven environment and contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence. Requirements · 10+ years of senior ‑ level SAP Basis administration experience in large, complex SAP environments. · Experience supporting SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and/or HANA-based environments. · Experience with both SAP ABAP and Java NetWeaver applications. · Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems supporting SAP applications and databases. · Strong SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL Server administration experience. · Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. · Experience with ECC-to-S/4HANA migrations. · Experience leading or supporting at least 10 full SAP lifecycle implementations and/or version upgrades. · Strong knowledge of SAP system administration, transports, performance management, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. Minimum Education: · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related field. Required Certifications: · SAP Basis Certifications preferred.
