SAP Business Systems Consultant

Summary:

Our customer has external consultants leading the technical implementation of SAP PP/DS. This role will focus on the functional and business side of the deployment, helping ensure the solution meets business requirements and is ready for successful adoption.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of production planning and supply chain processes, experience supporting SAP implementations, and the ability to translate between technical teams and business users.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and refine requirements

Serve as the functional liaison between business users and SAP implementation consultants

Support SAP PP/DS implementation activities and future SAP IBP initiatives

Translate technical issues, defects, and system functionality into business-friendly language

Create, manage, and execute test plans, test scripts, and validation activities

Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Document business processes, workflows, and system requirements

Track defects, testing results, and process improvements throughout implementation

Assist with training, readiness activities, and solution handoff to business users

Help drive adoption of new planning processes and system capabilities

Required Qualifications

Experience supporting SAP PP/DS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling)

Strong understanding of manufacturing, production planning, and supply chain processes

Experience gathering and documenting business requirements

Experience leading or supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Experience creating test scripts, test cases, and process documentation

Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business teams

Experience supporting ERP or supply chain system implementations

Preferred Qualifications

SAP IBP experience or exposure

SAP APO PP/DS experience

Supply Chain Planning or Manufacturing Planning background

Experience working with external system integrators or consulting partners

Change management, training, or business readiness experience

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI.

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $57.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
