SAP Functional AP Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Techno-Functional Accounts Payable Expert to serve as a strategic advisor to the Head of Finance. In this role, you will bridge the gap between finance operations, process architecture, and technology—driving automation, workflow optimization, and large-scale finance transformation initiatives.

You will analyze operational bottlenecks, evaluate system capabilities, and translate complex financial needs into scalable, automated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Finance Transformation: Partner with Finance Leadership to modernize, streamline, and scale global Accounts Payable (AP) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) operations.
• Process Automation: Identify automation gaps, improve Straight-Through Processing (STP) rates, and optimize invoice routing workflows.
• Bridge Finance & IT: Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, working closely with cross-functional technical teams.
• Architecture & Optimization: Utilize SAP and OpenText capabilities to design best-in-class financial workflows and process orchestration models using BPMN standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Requirements

• Domain Expertise: Extensive, end-to-end operational knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
• Systems Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SAP, OpenText (VIM / Invoice Management), and digital workflow automation platforms.
• Key Concepts: Strong proficiency in STP, Process Orchestration, BPMN mapping, and Financial Close transformation.
• Ownership & Mindset: A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to lead initiatives independently from initial evaluation through implementation.
• Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with fluent written and spoken English in a fully remote, international context.
