Our end-client, based in Austria is starting a multi-year global S/4HANA programme. They are looking for a senior, German-speaking SAP Program / Project Manager.

The Role:

This is a senior programme leadership role with a strong functional focus. You will shape and lead the internal SAP rollout team, which will include:

• Finance specialists (FI/CO)
• Logistics specialists (MM/SD and adjacent processes)
• Technical specialists covering interfaces, integration and data migration

You will direct this team, manage the external SAP partners involved, and keep each deployment on plan, on budget and consistent with the overall roadmap. Business experts from across the organisation will also contribute part of their time to the deployments, with their involvement varying by project phase.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Would be an experienced SAP Rollout Program Manager with strong hands-on project management capabilities.
• Alternatively, a senior SAP Project Manager would also be suitable, provided they have successfully managed international SAP rollouts, coordinated multiple workstreams and established reusable rollout structures. The key differentiator is the ability to manage a multi-year rollout roadmap rather than a single implementation project.
• You will put in place standard approaches, documentation, lessons learned and governance that can be reused throughout the programme.
• Year-one focus. The first year is about recruiting the team, agreeing the delivery approach, working alongside the existing SAP function and getting the first deployments ready.
• Ownership and independence. You should be comfortable taking ownership, working independently and engaging confidently with executives, internal teams and external partners.

Required skills and experience:

• A solid track record leading large, complex global SAP projects / rollouts.
• Hands-on S/4HANA rollout experience (strongly preferred). Alternatively, an outstanding candidate with deep ECC rollout experience and a good grasp of S/4HANA would also be considered.
• Experience with SAP Activate methodology is preferred. PRINCE2, PMI/PMBOK or similar, ideally combined with agile delivery experience, is also acceptable.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across several countries
• Experience managing systems integrators and other external partners
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to drive decisions.

Languages:

• Must have a minimum of B2 level German language skills.
• Must also be fluent in English.

Remote Working:

• Hybrid working is possible, subject to the company's applicable policies.
• However, during the first year, on-site collaboration should clearly take priority over remote work. Candidates are expected to be flexible and willing to spend the majority of their working time at the headquarters whilst establishing the SAP Team, defining governance and delivery standards.
• Once the team is established and operating effectively, a more flexible hybrid arrangement can be considered.
• 100% remote work is not possible.

Travel:

• Approximately 20–30% international travel, depending on the project phase, particularly during rollout preparation, deployment and go-live phases.

Salary:

• The Fixed Basic Salary on offer is subject to your skills, knowledge and experience. The company is fully open to negotiation.

Visa Requirements:

• Work visa sponsorship is not possible. All candidates must therefore have either EU Citizenship or already have a valid work visa for Austria.
