Chief Finance Officeis the team of finance experts at Santander. We ensure all financial reporting is fit for purpose, to high standards and adequately controlled. We are a collaborative area, working across business areas, with other internal and Group stakeholders and with our external auditors to ensure financial reporting is understood and requirements met.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE


The Chief Finance Office is looking for a Sarbanes Oxley Finance Manager based out of Unity Place, Milton Keynes. 12 Month - FTC


This role sits within a team of Finance Managers within the Sarbanes Oxley team. The Sarbanes Oxley (S-Ox) team are responsible for the testing, monitoring and enhancements of controls over financial reporting (S-Ox controls) across Santander.


It is a very collaborative team which stives for quality outputs, consistency and continuous improvements to deliver a great S-Ox controls framework, protecting Santander from material financial reporting errors. The team work with stakeholders across the bank, providing assistance, advice and best practice guidance on S-Ox controls management. Where control gaps or issues are identified through testing or other avenues, the team work with business contacts to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner and that the risk is managed.

  • Provide advice, assistance, and good practice guidance to business contacts, to ensure that an effective S-Ox control environment is maintained.
  • Perform design and operating effectiveness testing of controls in line with internal procedures and the S-Ox Control Self-Assessment (CSA) campaign deadlines.
  • Support projects to ensure controls are updated accordingly, are fit for purpose and of a high standard.
  • Work directly with business contacts to assess root cause and apply appropriate measures to resolve control deficiencies.
  • Track and report status of remediation progress of control issues
  • Report results of testing to key stakeholders

Professional Experience

  • Controls experience (internal control, audit) – (preferred)
  • Accounting – (preferred)
  • Good understanding of banking / large Financial Services organisation – (preferred)
  • Understanding of Risk and Risk Management – (required)

Education

  • degree qualified - (required)
  • qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) – (preferred)

Languages

Salary Range:


£55,167.00 - £82,751.00 per annum (depending on experience)

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
