Satellite Security Architect

ReOrbit is looking for a Satellite Security Architect to join our team in Bengaluru.

As our Satellite Security Architect, you will define the trust, identity, security, and cryptographic foundations of our end to end space based computing platform, built to operate autonomously, at global scale, and securely for the quantum era.

You will work closely with SW and HW engineers, system architects and security stakeholders to create practical security designs and architecture that meet the long term security objectives of our space platform.

Responsibilities

• Design the security architecture for a distributed satellite mesh

• Define PKI, identity, and trust models for intermittently connected systems

• Lead our post-quantum cryptography (PQC) strategy

• Define hardware root-of-trust, secure provisioning, and key management architecture for satellite systems

• Integrate with 3rd party software stacks relying on our hardware

• Design security architecture for a containerized, cloud-based ground segment

• Ensure crypto agility and long-term resilience

• Define and enforce trust boundaries in the design

Skills and Requirements

• Strong experience in security architecture and distributed systems

• Deep knowledge of PKI, key management, secure protocols and authentication systems

• Strong understanding of modern cryptography and emerging post quantum cryptography standards

• Experience in cloud, edge, telecom or IoT environments

• Satellite, aerospace, Delay-Tolerant Networking (DTN), or mission-critical distributed systems experience is a bonus

• Experience with HSMs, secure elements, or hardware roots of trust is a bonus

• Experience with 5G / NTN / D2D security is a bonus
