About PwC SATIC and the role:
PwC South Africa Technology and Innovation Centre (SATIC) is a joint venture between PwC South Africa and PwC UK, established in July 2023 to deliver technology-powered, expert-led services that solve complex business challenges globally and locally. SATIC focuses on creating innovative digital solutions while developing talent through impactful programs that address youth unemployment and equip learners from marginalized backgrounds with future-ready skills.
Cyber security remains one of the most significant strategic risks for PwC’s clients worldwide. With rapid digital transformation, disrupted supply chains, and changing workforce dynamics, protecting cyberspace is critical. PwC’s cyber security practice delivers strategy, risk governance, technical assurance, and implementation services that help clients securely transform their businesses. The practice is expanding rapidly to meet growing client demand for cyber risk expertise
About the Team:
PwC UK’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) practice is a leading provider of advisory, assurance, implementation, and managed services that help clients optimise business processes and digital service delivery by embedding digital identity at their core. Covering the full IAM lifecycle, including Access Management (AM), Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Directory Services, the team leverages advanced technologies such as SailPoint, Saviynt, CyberArk, Microsoft and others to deliver transformative solutions.
Our approach integrates deep business knowledge, technical expertise, and sector experience to create tangible business value through IAM, making digital identity a foundational element in clients’ business services and transformation journeys.
We address a broad range of IAM challenges, including enabling secure digital transformation, governance of access during mergers and divestments, delivering seamless customer experiences, and advising on risk-based governance frameworks.
As part of this expanding PwC UK practice, we are growing our IAM capabilities within the SATIC team in South Africa, extending world-class identity services to new clients and markets, and contributing to the development of the next generation of IAM talent through this innovative joint venture.

- Practical experience with CyberArk for PAM and Identity Governance platforms like SailPoint and Saviynt.
- Solid architecture skills with experience designing IAM solutions that are aligned with business needs and security policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid understanding of Access Management, PAM, IGA, LDAP, and entitlement concepts.
- Experience in incident management and ITSM tools/processes (e.g., ServiceNow).

- IAM vendor certifications (CyberArk, SailPoint, Microsoft or Saviynt).
- Microsoft, Okta and Ping Identity (nice to have)
Responsibilities of role:
Our Identity & Access Management (IAM) team focuses on helping clients design, implement, and operate effective access controls that protect against threats, support business objectives, and enable growth. As organisations pivot towards digital business models, exponentially more data is generated and shared among partners, customers, and internal teams.
We work alongside client leadership teams to define their IAM strategy and roadmap, and establish operating and governance models that enable sustainable IAM capabilities aligned with evolving business priorities. We deliver complex, multi-year transformation programmes that uplift clients’ IAM maturity and embed these capabilities into broader digital transformation initiatives.
As an IAM Manager, you will play an integral role in helping clients protect critical assets by employing the latest strategies and tools across key IAM domains including Access Management (AM), Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Entitlement Management, and Directory Services.
Strong communication skills will be pivotal as you engage with clients and internal teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights and fostering trusted relationships.
You will apply your architecture skills to design and guide IAM solutions that align with client business requirements and security frameworks. Your expertise will support scalable, secure, and maintainable identity architectures covering Access Management (AM), Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
In addition to managing and delivering client-facing transformation engagements, you will be heavily involved in managed service support, including incident triage and management, root cause analysis, SLA adherence, ticket lifecycle oversight, and driving continuous service improvements post go-live. Your role will require effective coordination between client stakeholders, technical delivery teams, and service management functions to ensure seamless operations and high client satisfaction.
- You will join a team that values both technical expertise and business acumen, offering ongoing training and development opportunities within a strongly collaborative culture. As part of your career progression, you will have the opportunity to deepen your skills across IAM domains while fostering authentic and inclusive leadership at all levels.
- At PwC, we follow the PwC Professional leadership framework, which establishes a global set of expectations for skills and behaviours essential to success and career progression. As a Manager, you will be expected to:
- Pursue opportunities to develop new skills beyond your comfort zone.
- Actively resolve issues that impede effective team working, particularly during times of change and uncertainty.
- Coach and support junior colleagues, encouraging them to take ownership of their development.
- Analyse complex ideas and proposals, synthesising diverse stakeholder perspectives into meaningful recommendations.
- Identify and address work that does not meet client or firm standards.
- Develop a perspective on key global trends and their impact on the firm and its clients.
- Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes.
- Manage and deliver IAM engagements that include strategy, advisory, implementation, and assurance, producing documentation and quality assuring junior team outputs.
- Maintain awareness of key business and industry trends in digital identity and cybersecurity risk.
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships.
- Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct.
- Help retain and develop cyber security team members.
- Support senior team members in developing client proposals and solution offerings.
- Contribute to the development of IAM propositions, toolkits, methodologies, and accelerators.
- This role provides a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of technology, security, and business transformation within a growing and strategic IAM practice.
Desirable skill sets include:
- Engineering and hands-on technical skills in one or more IAM domains (PAM, IGA, AM).
- Experience with cloud IAM implementations (Azure AD, AWS IAM).
- Script or programming skill in Python, Java, PowerShell, or similar.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives and automation.
- Experience with IAM incident support.
- Ability to balance technical and business stakeholder needs.
- Previous exposure to managing client escalations and supplier relationships.
What You Will Get:
- Experience supporting complex IAM solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Opportunity to work with globally recognised IAM technologies.
- Collaborative team culture with ongoing learning and mentorship.
- Personal development through coaching and structured training.
- Involvement in high-impact cyber security transformation programs.
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
