Scheme Delivery Manager

Location: Perth/Inverness

Category: Engineering / Roads

Contract: Fulltime, 40 hours per week, hybrid working available after 3 months employment.

Potential for taking calls out with normal working hours

BEAR Scotland is a leading provider of road maintenance and management services, proudly responsible for the upkeep and enhancement of the country’s vital trunk road network — including bridges and key infrastructure — across some of the most scenic and challenging terrain in the UK.

Our Northwest Trunk Road Unit spans over 1,422km of roadways, stretching from the rugged beauty of Thurso and Wick in the far north, down to the coastal charm of Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute. It connects communities from Uig on the Isle of Skye to the historic cities of Perth and Stirling, offering a unique opportunity to work across a landscape that’s as diverse as it is inspiring.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Delivery Manager to join our existing team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Roads Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of our road surfacing programme including the coordination of the site supervision team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collating/coordinating the road surfacing programme
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders to achieve a deliverable programme of works (design teams/subcontractors/supervisors)
  • Carry out buildability checks on carriageway design options
  • Review as built records in line with current specifications (DMRB/British Standards etc.)
  • Coordinating the supervision of works

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum HND level in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of surfacing operations/specifications
  • Knowledge of the northwest trunk road network and associated working restrictions
  • The use of programming skills to coordinate multiple concurrent work activities

No agencies please. We are managing this vacancy in-house and will not accept CVs from recruitment agencies. Any CVs submitted without a prior agreement will be treated as a direct application.
