Company Description Cyber Jurisprudence International Initiative (CyJurII) is a pioneering platform dedicated to advancing legal thought and governance in the digital age. The initiative explores the intersection of law, cyberspace, and emerging technologies, with core focus areas such as AI and law, cybercrime, digital sovereignty, legal cybernetics, cross-border jurisdiction, and cyber rights and ethics. CyJurII brings together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to shape the evolving jurisprudence of cyberspace through research, dialogue, and collaboration. Its mission is to develop a dynamic body of legal knowledge that responds to the complexities of the digital world and supports justice-oriented global cyber governance. Members contribute to publications, events, and research that influence policy and academic discourse in cyber law and related fields.
Role Description The Scholar Member role at CyJurII is a full-time, remote position focused on research and thought leadership in cyber jurisprudence. Scholar Members conduct independent and collaborative research on topics such as AI and law, cybercrime and case law, digital sovereignty, cross-border jurisdiction, and cyber rights and ethics. On a day-to-day basis, they prepare scholarly articles, policy briefs, case analyses, and position papers; contribute to CyJurII publications; and support editorial review processes. Scholar Members also participate in virtual seminars, panel discussions, and working groups, engaging with peers, practitioners, and policymakers to advance CyJurII’s research agenda. Additional responsibilities may include mentoring junior researchers, assisting with grant proposals, and contributing to the design of research projects and academic events.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in law or related disciplines (e.g., LL.B., J.D., LL.M., Ph.D. in Law, International Relations, Public Policy, or equivalent experience), with demonstrated interest in cyber law, digital rights, or technology governance.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing, including the ability to analyze case law, legislation, and regulatory frameworks, and to produce clear, rigorous, and well-structured academic or policy-oriented texts.
  • Knowledge of key domains such as AI and law, cybercrime, digital sovereignty, cross-border jurisdiction, cyber rights, and ethics, with the ability to engage critically with theoretical and practical developments in these areas.
  • Experience in scholarly or policy collaboration, including participation in research projects, publications, conferences, or working groups, and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the capacity to synthesize complex information into actionable insights for global cyber governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including experience presenting research findings in academic, policy, or professional settings.
  • Comfort with remote work
