About the Role
At PaulHood, we are transforming the mid-market CPA industry with an entirely new model. Our year-round membership model provides clients with expert tax and financial guidance, helping them feel more secure and realize their long-term financial goals. Founded 30 years ago by Paul Hood, our company has grown rapidly and now serves over 15,000 customers nationwide. To support our continued growth, we have modernized our business with technology and processes more akin to a SaaS company than a traditional CPA firm.
We are seeking Seasonal Queue Team Representatives to support our tax operations during the 2026–2027 tax season. The Queue Team plays an important role in keeping tax returns moving efficiently through the preparation, delivery, and filing process. This is a task-focused, non-client-facing position responsible for processing a high volume of documents and tax-return workflows while maintaining accuracy, organization, and productivity. We are looking for seasonal team members to assist us from December 8, 2026, through April 30, 2027.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable learning new technology, and able to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role requires someone who can work efficiently, follow established procedures, and maintain accuracy while meeting daily priorities and deadlines.
What You Will Bring, Do, and Own
- Process client documents: Review and process documents uploaded through client portals, ensuring they are handled accurately and routed through the appropriate workflows.
- Follow up on missing documents: Send email or SMS requests when additional documentation is needed to move work forward.
- Print and assemble tax returns: Prepare completed returns for delivery by following established printing and assembly procedures.
- Electronically deliver tax returns: Process returns for electronic delivery to clients using established systems and workflows.
- Electronically file tax returns: Submit completed returns for electronic filing and ensure required steps are completed according to established procedures.
- Monitor IRS acceptance: Track electronically filed returns, review acceptance statuses, and follow established procedures for items requiring additional attention.
- Maintain accurate workflows: Update task statuses, follow checklists, and ensure work moves through the appropriate stages of the tax-return process.
- Manage a high volume of tasks: Consistently process assigned work while balancing productivity, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Follow established procedures: Adhere to team guidelines, protect confidential client information, and contribute to efficient and consistent operations.
Experience and Education You Will Need
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in administrative support, data entry, document processing, or another detail-oriented role preferred.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software and technology systems required.
- Experience managing a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
- Experience in accounting, tax preparation support, financial services, or professional services preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow documented processes and procedures.
Who You Are
- Productivity-minded: You are comfortable handling a high volume of work and maintaining a consistent pace throughout the day.
- Detail-oriented: You take pride in accurate work and understand the importance of reviewing details and following procedures.
- Organized: You can prioritize tasks, keep work moving, and manage multiple assignments in a structured environment.
- Adaptable: You learn new systems and workflows quickly and are comfortable working with digital tools and portals.
- Accountable: You take ownership of assigned work, meet expectations, and communicate when an issue needs attention.
- Independent: You can stay focused and productive while working through assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative: You support your teammates, follow shared processes, and contribute to the team’s overall success.
- Reliable: You arrive on time, maintain a positive attitude, and understand the importance of meeting deadlines during a busy tax season.
- Trustworthy: You handle confidential financial and tax information responsibly and follow company policies for data security and privacy.
