POSITION TITLE: Security Analyst

LOCATION: Hybrid in Columbia, MD

POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Analyst will be responsible for deploying and maintaining AWS infrastructure, writing infrastructure as code scripts, conducting penetration testing, creating and updating security policies, assessing computer systems for security risks, overseeing data access, and identifying vulnerabilities in security systems.

DUTIES

  • Supporting continuous monitoring, security assessments, audits and penetration testing
  • Creating various security policies and updating employees on the guidelines to follow
  • Assisting with maintaining ATO documentation, SSPs, security artifacts and control evidence
  • Supporting vulnerability management, POA&M tracking, remediation and security reporting
  • Assisting with NIST 800-53 and 800-171 control reviews, risk assessments and compliance activities
  • Creating incident reports as necessary
  • Overseeing data access and data maintenance
  • Upgrading data and security systems and enabling security software integration
  • Assessing security breaches and identifying vulnerabilities

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 2+ years of cybersecurity or related experience, including internships, academic experience, or relevant professional experience demonstrating strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Proven knowledge of Risk Management Framework

· Proven knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle

· Analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to set and meet deadlines

· Technical writing skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· Strong written/verbal communication skills, conduct briefings to senior management

· Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings

· Ability to create support documentation for all new applications

· Ability to work in high-pressure situations

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a High-Risk Public Trust or equivalent federal client access. This role supports sensitive federal programs and involves elevated access to systems and data.

· Position requires the current ability to obtain and maintain required access without interruption in alignment with long-term program needs.
