Who are we?

Every year, 2.5 million Belgians rely on the independent advice of a notary. At Fednot, the country’s largest professional federation, we support notaries so they can focus on helping citizens through important moments in their lives.

We offer notary offices a broad and innovative range of services and solutions, including legal advice, software tools and support, guidance on office management, and HR solutions.

Your role

As a Security Engineer, you ensure the reliable day-to-day operation of Fednot’s security solutions and contribute to projects that evolve and strengthen these systems.

  • Analyze and define security requirements.
  • Configure, support and maintain security tools.
  • Manage identity components, user accounts and provisioning processes.
  • Set up and maintain access management components.
  • Monitor security systems and improve observability.
  • Defend systems against unauthorized access.
  • Develop security procedures and make policy recommendations.
  • Provide technical security advice, including expert guidance on OAuth and OpenID Connect.
  • Advise staff, managers and executives on security best practices.
  • Support employee awareness of security procedures.
  • Train employees in security procedures

You want

  • A hands-on role combining operational security responsibilities with improvement projects.
  • To strengthen identity and access management, authentication and infrastructure security.
  • To translate security requirements into practical solutions and clear recommendations.
  • To share your technical expertise and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization.
  • To maintain and continuously update advanced knowledge of systems and methods in line with the current state of the art.

You have

  • Experience working with SDLC, RUP and Agile approaches.
  • A good understanding of authentication protocols and providers, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, open LDAP and Active Directory.
  • Solid knowledge of identity and access management concepts and solutions
  • Knowledge of application firewalls and web services.
  • Practical scripting knowledge in Linux and/or Windows environments.
  • Previous experience in network security is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of web services in Auth0 is a plus

  • An experienced Security Engineer with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable administering, troubleshooting and continuously improving security solutions.
  • A clear communicator who can provide sound technical advice to different audiences.
  • Proactive and attentive to reliable operations, security risks and continuous improvement.

Where you will work

Our offices are located in the heart of Brussels, close to Central Station and easily accessible.

Where are you going to work?

We offer a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work remotely up to 60% of the time.
