Our client is looking to seriously grow its cybersecurity company. It is looking for experts who act like owners and can provide guidance and thought leadership to customers on all things cybersecurity related. The Security Solutions Specialist is responsible for ongoing management of Microsoft Cloud Security solutions for managed services clients. The role will participate in the full client lifecycle by assisting with client system onboarding, and transitioning the client to ongoing management. Daily operations will include reviewing and client requests, adjusting the configuration of managed solutions as per client requests, interacting with client stakeholders for various reasons, including moves/add/changes, and response to incidents.
The Security Solutions Specialist reports directly to the Professional Services Practice Lead.
Duties
· Assist our Security Solutions Management clients with the ongoing operation and management of their Microsoft Cloud security solutions, including:
o Moves/Adds/Changes
o Developing solutions within the platform’s capabilities to meet client need
o Providing recommendations to client based on observed solution behaviour and client need
· Support and guide internal & client resources including Microsoft 365 Administrators, Knowledge Managers, Developers and Users
· Work Risk Operations Centre colleagues to identify for security hardening, based on M365/Azure capabilities and client’s licensing
· Contribute to the evaluation of new or updated security solutions with engineering.
· Serve as a technical escalation resource for colleagues in the Risk Operations Centre and client stakeholders and provide mentoring for peer skill development.
· Assist with investigation and implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls as part of an Incident Response Team
· Prepare briefings and reports of analysis methodology and results
· Participate in annual training to continually improve knowledge and understanding.
· Work with the Professional Services Practice Lead and the Operations Manager – Managed Services to ensure that service offerings and testing methodology align with industry standard.
· Other responsibilities as required.
Requirements
5+ years of technical operations experience in Information Security, System Administration, or Network Engineering with at least 4 years of experience in Information Security
· Experience with Active Directory in an operations role is a requirement, experience with Azure AD Connect and Active Directory Federation Services and third party federations services from an operations and implementation role are desirable
· Experience deploying and/or operating Microsoft 365 and/or Azure security solutions, including at least two of the following:
o Microsoft Intune
o Microsoft Information Protection
o Microsoft Azure Active Directory, particularly Conditional Access Policies
o Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
o Microsoft Defender for Office
o Azure Defender
· Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Security Diploma, or equivalent work experience
· Knowledge of various operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows, Mac OS)
· Knowledge of scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
