The Security Specialist I is responsible for providing security coordination, site support, emergency response coordination, regulatory compliance support, and administrative security services for the Adrian Site Security Center. This position serves as a central resource for security operations, visitor management, emergency communications, compliance tracking, and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) activities while ensuring adherence to site security, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The role supports the North Central America (NCA) Region by coordinating site access control, monitoring security systems, managing emergency and security communications, supporting audits and investigations, and assisting with security and safety compliance programs.
Essential Functions of this Position
Security Coordination and Site Support
- Ensure Security Coordination and Site Support service levels are maintained through effective administration of security policies, programs, and procedures.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for site security inquiries and support requests.
- Maintain site access control systems, visitor management processes, and security documentation.
- Assist in implementing and improving site security initiatives and procedures.
- Support internal stakeholders in matters related to site security compliance and requirements.
Security Compliance, FTZ, and Regulatory Support
- Ensure Site Security Procedures are effectively managed and administered, including FTZ and DHS-related security requirements.
- Read, interpret, and understand applicable federal, state, local, and corporate regulations related to security and safety.
- Make recommendations for revisions to security procedures and programs to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Assist with Foreign Trade Zone documentation, tracking, reporting, and processing requirements.
- Support security and compliance investigations, claims reviews, and inquiry resolution activities.
- Assist with preparation and coordination of internal and external security audits.
- Track audit actions and assist with corrective action implementation and closure.
Regional Security Operations and Site Monitoring
- Support coordination of security operations for the NCA Region.
- Manage employee and contractor ID badging processes.
- Monitor Security CCTV and site alarm systems.
- Coordinate visitor access procedures and delivery processing.
- Support truck deliveries and tanker processing activities.
- Serve as the NCA Region central contact point for ChemTrec communications and off-site telephone inquiries.
- Ensure accurate documentation and communication of security-related events.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with continual interruptions.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks and tools (SAP, WACKER Intranet, Business Warehouse Enterprise Buyer, WACKER specific IT tools, etc.)
- Effective communication skills (oral and written) including inclusion and collaboration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Ability to analyze information and make sound recommendations regarding security and compliance matters.

- Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Ability to complete required DHS, FTZ, site security, and emergency response training.
