COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our client is an established international electronic components distribution business supporting customers across a diverse range of industries and technology markets.
The organization provides customers with access to a broad range of electronic components and semiconductor products, combining global sourcing capabilities with supply chain, logistics, and procurement solutions.
As the business continues to expand its commercial presence across the United States, they are looking to add an experienced Senior Account Manager to their sales organization. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, commercially driven environment where Account Managers are given significant ownership of their customer portfolio and the opportunity to directly benefit from the business they grow.
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Account Manager will take ownership of a broad portfolio of customer accounts, with responsibility for developing existing relationships, identifying new revenue opportunities, and generating new business.
This is a hands-on sales position suited to someone who enjoys working at pace, managing multiple customers and opportunities simultaneously, and taking commercial ownership throughout the sales process.
The successful candidate will have previous experience selling electronic components and/or semiconductor products, ideally within an independent distribution or broker environment. You should be comfortable managing customer requirements from initial enquiry through quoting, pricing, negotiation, order placement, and ongoing account development.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have sold across a broad range of products and end markets, rather than individuals whose experience has been concentrated around a single major account, product family, or industry vertical.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and grow a broad portfolio of customer accounts within the electronic components and semiconductor market.
- Develop strong relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to increase revenue and account penetration.
- Generate new business through proactive prospecting, customer outreach, account reactivation, referrals, and relationship development.
- Respond to customer enquiries and RFQs with a strong sense of urgency.
- Manage the commercial sales process, including quoting, pricing, negotiation, and closing.
- Identify customer requirements and work internally to develop competitive sourcing and supply solutions.
- Maintain regular customer engagement through telephone, email, virtual meetings, and occasional face-to-face visits.
- Manage multiple customer requirements, opportunities, and priorities simultaneously in a fast-moving sales environment.
- Develop a strong understanding of customer purchasing patterns, product requirements, supply challenges, and future demand.
- Identify opportunities to expand business across additional products, programs, and customer locations.
- Collaborate closely with internal sourcing, purchasing, operations, quality, logistics, and business development teams.
- Maintain accurate account, opportunity, pipeline, and activity information within the CRM.
- Work toward individual revenue and gross profit targets while contributing to the continued growth of the wider sales organization.
- Provide feedback on customer demand, pricing trends, market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging commercial opportunities.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years of relevant sales or account management experience, preferably within the electronic components or semiconductor industry.
- Previous experience within an independent electronic components distributor, broker, or similar high-tempo distribution environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable track record of growing revenue and developing customer accounts.
- Experience managing a portfolio of multiple active customers rather than being solely responsible for one major strategic account.
- Proven ability to generate new business alongside developing existing accounts.
- Hands-on experience with quoting, pricing, commercial negotiation, and closing business.
- Broad knowledge of electronic components and/or semiconductor products is highly desirable.
- Experience selling across multiple customer types or end markets is preferred.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance customer requirements, pricing, margin, and revenue objectives.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, activity-driven sales environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts, RFQs, opportunities, and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience using CRM systems and other sales tools.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, industry events, and other business requirements.
