Summary

The Senior Account Manager is responsible for managing an assigned book of business and providing exceptional service to clients. This role serves as a trusted day-to-day resource, building strong relationships with clients and carrier partners while ensuring account needs are handled accurately, efficiently, and proactively.

In partnership with Account Executives and Advisors, the Senior Account Manager oversees renewals, marketing activities, client and carrier communication, and ongoing account servicing. The ideal candidate brings strong insurance knowledge, excellent organization and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while delivering a consistently high level of client service.

This is a full-time opportunity with the flexibility to work hybrid from our Albany, NY or Fishkill, NY offices. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned book of Personal Risk business and serve as a key day-to-day contact for clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carrier partners through proactive, responsive communication.
  • Manage the renewal and marketing process
  • Review accounts, identify coverage needs, coordinate remarketing when appropriate, and support insurance recommendations.
  • Communicate directly with clients and carriers regarding coverage, renewals, policy changes, and ongoing service needs.
  • Participate in and, when appropriate, lead client meetings and account reviews.
  • Maintain accurate client and policy records within the agency management system and ensure timely follow-through on outstanding items.
  • Manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities while collaborating with internal teams to deliver a high-quality client experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Personal Risk insurance products, coverage, renewals, and account management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and an assigned book of business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive, client-focused approach.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Sound independent judgment with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems; Applied Epic experience preferred.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing client needs, priorities, and technology.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • More than five years of insurance industry and product-line experience.
  • Experience independently managing renewals and an assigned book of business strongly preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

  • New York Property & Casualty insurance license required.

The base salary range for this position is $53,500 -$71,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
