The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, solid knowledge of Spanish GAAP and tax requirements, and proven experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes.

We are looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset who goes beyond identifying accounting issues: someone who investigates discrepancies, challenges inconsistencies, proposes solutions and follows them through to resolution.

The role requires someone who is comfortable going into the detail when needed, while maintaining a clear understanding of the bigger financial picture and the impact of accounting matters across the business.

Previous experience of 1–2 years in a Big 4 audit firm would be highly valued, although it is not mandatory. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment, with strong Excel skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance and other areas of the organization.

Key responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the accounting and close process, ensuring the accuracy, completeness and reliability of financial information.

  • Manage and review month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all transactions, accruals and adjustments are properly recorded.

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

  • Analyze Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts, investigating significant or unusual variances.

  • Treasury: Perform and review bank reconciliations, monitor cash movements and ensure appropriate payment controls.

  • Accounts Payable: Review invoices, accruals and accounting entries, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and resolving payment discrepancies.

  • Accounts Receivable: Monitor customer balances and invoicing processes, maintain accurate customer records and ensure consistency between CRM and ERP information.

  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences between group entities.

  • Support the preparation and review of Spanish tax filings and ensure compliance with applicable tax and accounting requirements.

  • Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with Spanish GAAP and internal accounting policies.

  • Support external audits, preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditors' requests.

  • Support the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and annual accounts in accordance with Spanish GAAP.

  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes and internal controls.

  • Collaborate with other Finance areas and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Required skills:
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance or similar roles.

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.

  • A master in audit would be an advantage

  • Advanced Excel skills are essential.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and a high level of digital literacy. SAP experience would be highly valued.

  • Advanced level of English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of responsibilities and make sound accounting judgments.
